"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty," crooned Ty Lee, poking her head under her bed. "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty."
Footsteps approached. "Looking for something?" asked the princess.
"Yeah, my kitty," Ty Lee replied, crawling halfway beneath the bed in search of him.
Azula rolled her eyes. "That was a rhetorical question."
Flustered, Ty Lee exclaimed, "That was… a rhetorical answer!"
Azula didn't point out the flaws in Ty Lee's comeback. She had come to the conclusion that she was going to be searching for a lost kitten.
"I told you that you would lose him, or forget to feed him, or accidentally dissect him," Azula said coolly, eliciting a scowl from the usually smiling Ty Lee. "I said he was a bad idea."
Ty Lee sat up and leaned against the bed. She tried to fight it, but her lip trembled and tears swelled in her eyes. Azula tried to fight it, but her chest compressed and she was helpless.
"A-A-Azula…" Ty Lee eked between sobs.
"Fine," Azula snapped, wishing she could maintain some of her dignity. "I will help you find your stupid cat that I thought was a terrible idea."
Ty Lee leapt up in one graceful motion, embracing her girlfriend tightly. Azula did appreciate that part of this horrible waste of her day.
She kind of did like that cat, after all.
