Dear Dad,
How are you and mum? Rose and I are fine here in Spain, don't worry. So, dad, I was writing to tell you that, just recently, we found out dear Rosie was pregnant! Could you believe that? Of course you can. What you probably don't believe is your son married a Weasley, but I hope we're past that now. Mum always said it was OK, so I hope you think so as well. After all, it's been three years.
Anyway, it's pretty unreal, and well, knowing that I'd be a father soon – like you – makes me feel so… well, I don't know really. It's this, elated yet sort of unsure feeling. Did you go through that when mum was pregnant with me? I really need someone to tell me this was normal. Merlin, I'm nervous. Rose's been craving for stuff lately, the morning sickness also starting to kick in, oh and did I mention she has these really, really sick mood swings? Oh dear God.
I plan on naming the child after you, if a male, and after mum if female. So that'd be like… Lucian Draco or Ginny Hermione – but I don't know. I pretty much suck at picking names, yes? So I'd really appreciate it if you or mum could suggest… a name. Please.
Well enough on that. Guess what though, dad. The Ministry promoted me as Assistant Head of the Dark Artifacts department of the Spanish branch. Not a job I'm really excited for, but I look forward to using my last name and status now, like you do – not as grand though, but it might suffice.
Well. Yeah. OK, I'll stop beating around the bush now. Dad, today is Father's Day – and you're my father, so Happy Father's Day. Send my love to mum, please? Thank you.
With love, (how corny is that,)
Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy.
Draco laughed as he finished reading Scorpius' letter. The kid hasn't fully grasped his confidence, or his cockiness, but Draco was still very proud of him. Draco never really approved of his marriage to the Weasley either, but hey, he didn't exactly approve of the one he married before either, but later discovered it to be the best choice of his life, so how more screwed up can their family tree get? He chuckled at the thought.
At fifty two, Draco Malfoy didn't have much of a care in the world any more, just as long as Scorpius got by, and that he, and his wife lived as extravagantly as he did when he was a young boy.
He stands up from his seat, puts down the letter, and makes his way to the garden, where he usually found his dearly beloved. He guessed right though, she was out there, basking in the rays of the sunlight, her brown curls were always Draco's favorite sight. She was reading a book, and was probably in her own little world, but Draco didn't give a rat's ass about that right now.
He sat beside her, put an arm around her, and says, "Hermione, dear, Scorpius sends his love."
Oh hai. It's Father's Day, where I'm from, so I thought I'd do a Father's day thing! Oh, by the way, Draco's 52, and that makes Scorpius 27. See, in the Epilogue, Draco is 36 at least, and he's seen with an 11 year old son. You do the math.
I hope you liked this cheesy one shot!
