The rain was coming down hard outside the station. They ran to each other, tears on their faces mingling with the rainwater. They met, crushing themselves together, holding on so tight you couldn't have prised them apart if you had wanted to.

The rain soaked through their thin cotton shirts, making them see through but they paid this no heed. All that mattered was that they were together again. Together.

She pulled away and ran a hand through his hair, dripping wet strands of ebony black. His eyes were just the way she remembered them, so clear and beautiful, sparkling with vibrancy and life.

And then there were her eyes, still dark, as beautiful as ever. And her hair, thick curls hanging limply around her pale face. A face he knew and remembered. Would always remember.

One hand rose to tilt her chin…

They were only inches apart…

The rain stopped.

They both looked up at the sky in some surprise, and where moments before there had been grey, angry looking clouds, there was now a small window to the blue sky beyond. A ray of sunlight shone feebly down and warmed them.

She looked down at herself and then at him.

"We look a right bloody mess don't we?" she laughed at his face. "Come on, let's go or we'll miss the train."

He nodded, squeezing water from his shirt as they walked. He glanced sideways at her.

"I take it that you've missed me."

"Yes," she said simply. "I have."
