Anything But Mine

DISCLAIMER I OWN NOTHING

Geoff walked with Bridgette toward the beach, the lights from the carnival shined down. He listened as the kid screamed in delight as they rode the rollercoaster, followed by the sounds of the games.

Walkin along beneath the lights of that

Miracle mile. Me and Mary Makin

our way into the night. You can hear the cries

from the carnival rides the pinball

Bells and the skiball slides

They sat and watched the sun sink below the water, a warm breeze blew around them. She removes her shoes and wiggles her bare feet.

Watching the Summer sun fall out of sight. There's a

Warm wind coming in from off of the ocean

Makin it's way past the hotel walls to fill the streets.

Mary is holdin both of her shoes in her hands.

Says she likes to feel the sand beneath her feet.

And in the mornin I'm leavin makin my way back

To Cleveland so tonight I hope that I will do just fine

And hey I don't see how you could ever be anything but

Mine.

After they were finished they walked back toward the other end of the beach. A local band was playing at the sea side pavilion. Geoff fished around in his pockets and was lucky enough to have just the right amount to get them both in.

There's a local band playing at the sea side pavilion.

And I got just enough cash to get us in.

When they got in Bridgette grabbed his hand and led him onto the dance floor. He winces slightly when her hand brushes his burned shoulder.

And as we are dancin Mary is wrappin her arms around me

And I can feel the sting of summer on my skin.

"I love you." he said softly in her ear, as the music played. She chuckles slightly.

"Sure you do." she says, he laughs weakly, "Good one Geoff."

"Yeah… good one." he mutters, clenching his eyes against the tears but they still slip out and fall on her shoulder. He could feel it in the air, Summer was ending and there was still so much he wanted to do to her.

In the midst of the music I

Tell her I love her and we

Both laugh because we know it isn't true.

Aw but Mary there's a summer drawin

To an end tonight. And there's so much

That I long to do to you. But in the mornin

I'm leaving makin my way back to Cleveland

So tonight I hope that I'll do just fine. And I don't

see how you could ever be anything but mine.

Ooooooooooohoooooooooooo

In the mornin I'm leavin makin my way back to Cleveland

So tonight I hope that I will do just fine. And I don't see

How you could ever be anything but mine. Mary I don't see

how you could ever be anything but mine.
