This is in Peters POV. I might make this into a story, or I might leave it as a one shot. Who knows?
All his devils. Gone. Danny taken by the Captian. Cricket didn't want to come back. Sekeu, Redbone, Abraham, Dirk, Dash, everyone. Nick. Dead.
I'm all alone now. Peter realized. No more Devils. What am I going to do with Devil Tree now?
Peter looked up at the night sky. He could see the stars and the smallest sliver of the moon hanging in the sky.
Are they up there? He wondered.
Are they with you Avallach? Do you like them? Keep them company, please Avallach. Lady knows they only have each other now.
Peter began walking.
What am I going to do know? I have no Devils and the Flesh-Eaters have all left, so why do I remain the the world of men-kind? I could return to Avalon and be at peace. So what compels me to stay?
He found himself in front of a house he had visited rather recently. He still remembers the exact way Nick had described it all those weeks ago.
"Goddamn you, listen to me. She lives near the park, where you found me. It's on Carroll Street, just off Fourth Avenue. The blue house. The only blue house on the street. Did you get that? Carroll Street. The blue house. You can't miss it. Go there, kill Marko. You owe me. You fucking owe me."
He smiled despite himself.
Yes. Killing Marko and his buddies had been very fun. He even branded Nicks name into Markos arm. The way his eyes widened as he realized who had sent him was envigorating. He wants to go back and kill them again.
He continues down the street. He knows Nicks mom is going to be just fine.
All too soon, or not soon enough, he finds himself in the park. There, in the tunnel, is a girl. She looks to be about 12-13 years old. Before his only goal would have been to get her to Devil Tree to fight the Flesh-Eaters for The Lady. Now he's just concerned.
Damn it Nick. He thought as he walked towards the tunnel. What did you do to me?
As he reached the tunnel he found himself looking at a pair of piercing gold eyes. Raven black hair that fell to her shoulders and sharp Native American angles stood out the most. She looked... familiar somehow.
"Is it...? Is it you? Did I not...? But I remember... he... and then I... and, where am I Peter?"
Peter stared at the girl in shock. How... how does she know my name? And why... why does she look like Sekeu??!
"Ummm... do you... I'm sorry, but do you know me? What... what's your name?" He asked hesitantly.
"Oh. Um. My name. Right. My name. It's... ummmmm..."
The girl trailed off.
Sekeu. Let it be Sekeu. Peter thought fervently.
"My.. my name is... S.. Sekeu. Yes. Sekeu."
Peter let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding.
"Sekeu." Is all he says.
Then he holds out his hand to her and smiles. "Let's go to Devil Tree." He says.
She takes his hand and smiles back, "Yes." Because Peter's smile is a most contagious thing.
