Disclaimer: I do not own or make any profit from the anime/manga 'Wolf's Rain' and/or own any of the characters from it. This product is the sole property of Keiko Nobumoto and Bandai Entertainment. I am, however, the sole author of this fanfic. So please do not steal my story. It's happened before.

Author's Note: Hello Simply Hopeless here with a Wolf's Rain fic. I like odd pairings and it doesn't get odder than Blue and Tsume. But hopefully you'll fall in love with the pairing too.

Important: I will be revamping/reediting a lot of my earlier stories and this is one of them. I want to iron out any confusion and/or plot holes that previous readers experienced the first time I published this. Also, I want to reacquaint myself with my stories that I haven't touched in a long time. Finally, I want to enhance the plotline that I had already developed. Since some and/or all of these chapters have been previously published, I will be updating this story, this year until my birthday, every Friday until the original story is finished and/or when I get to the point where I need to add new story material. I honestly do hope you guys enjoy this story and I look forward to any positive reviews you may have in this pursuit to better your reading experience with me. Thank you and enjoy.

Chapter One: Here We Are

"Pops you know you should really lay off with the vodka," Blue couldn't help smiling at the old man. She leaned her head against his shoulder as soon as he was finished throwing back another glass of vodka. He slammed the shot glass back down onto the table, proud of his accomplishment of beating his drinking record of twenty-eight shots.

"Blue just because you happen to be my nurse doesn't mean you can tell me when to stop drinking or not. I mean it does wonders for me. I feel as fit as hiccup a fiddle," Quent laid a wet kiss on her forehead and she grimaced.

"Stop pops or you'll have me smelling like vodka and then how am I going to explain to my boss," Blue looked at him offended but lifted her head to plant a kiss on his rough cheek. "You need to shave as well old man."

"Nag, nag, nag. That's all you women do is nag. I'm perfectly fine," Quent stood up abruptly knocking his chair over before stumbling backwards himself. Blue quickly grabbed for his arm and held it tightly knowing that without her he would be on the floor cursing up a storm.

"You know you don't mean that," Blue said smiling as she shouldered the old man.

"I mean everything I hiccup say. There are wolves out there who that disguise themselves as humans and I will hunt each and everyone down," growled Quent ready to pull away from Blue but she held securely to his arm.

"Let me walk you home pops and you can tell me all about the wolves in the morning," Blue said as she guided him out the door and into the cold night air. It was already snowing again and she shivered slightly.

She looked up in surprise when she felt the slightly heavy weight of Quent's coat around her shoulders. "I can't have my nurse catching cold on me, now can I? Who else would put up with me then," Quent gave her a ragged smile before plowing through the alleys with her behind him.

"You need this more than me Quent I mean really if—" but she stopped as she saw a huge gray dog streak past them.

Before Blue could react Quent has his gun cocked and fired at the dog.

"God damn it pops see what you did!"

She ran to see if the dog he had shot was all right but instead of a gray dog she saw a young man bleeding. His silver hair was close to the color of the snow and stood out against his tan limbs.

She paused for a minute staring at him, wondering how he gotten himself behind the trash cans then she gasped as she saw that he was bleeding. "Oh my god Pops, what did you do this time," she whispered hoarsely to herself. She then knelt beside him not minding the pool of blood that was forming or the metallic-like odor of the blood that assaulted her nostrils.

She pressed her cold fingers against his neck and sighed inwardly in relief at the vein that pulsed against her fingertips. 'He's still alive, thank god.'

"Blue did I get him!" Quent yelled and that's when Blue knew what she had to do.

'A new patient,' is the next chapter if you review me. Here is Blue stuck with this stranger but she must take care of him secretly or risk having pops taking away from her for shooting an innocent.
