Lazlo, who's stuck inside the giant teddy elephant Hug-O-Meter, stands in front of Camp Counselor Slinkman's desk. "Let me try to be clear this time, Lazlo," the banana slug says reasonably, but with more than a touch of exasperation to his voice. "I need you to stop hugging everyone."

The monkey stares back in perplexity. "I still don't get that joke!"

Slinkman sighs with defeat, knowing that any hope of reasoning with Lazlo was futile, as he unzips the back of the teddy elephant, setting Lazlo free.

Lazlo trudges slowly through the camp grounds, kicking a small acorn along. "Gee," he says dolefully under his breath. "I somehow hugged everyone but the one person who really needed it. I wonder who it was..." Just then, the monkey hears the sound of sobbing from behind a nearby rock. Concerned, he hurries over to the spot, upon which he quickly spots Samson sitting with his face buried in his paws, weeping profusely. "Say, what's wrong, Samson?"

"Oh, it's awful!" the guinea pig sobs. "I was looking for someone to give me a hug, but no one ever did. Guess...no one...cares about me...at all..."

It's at this moment that Lazlo realizes what must have happened. Apparently Samson was the one who had given him the call earlier, but hadn't given out his real name. The monkey begins to feel very, very guilty. Ohmigosh, what have I done? he thinks.

Nothing daunted, Lazlo quickly scrambles down the rock and gives Samson a great big hug. The guinea pig's eyes grow wide with surprise. "L-Lazlo? Why are you hugging me?"

"Because you're my friend and I care very much about you," the monkey replies. "Friends never let down friends in need." Samson's tears fade away as a wide smile spreads across his face.

At this moment, Raj and Clam pass by; upon seeing what's happening, they quickly rush over and give Samson a big group hug, too. "Friends will always be there for you to help you and cheer you up when your feeling sad," Lazlo elaborates. "You're very special to all of us."

"Indeed." Raj adds.

"Very special." Clam adds.

The guinea pig beams as his heart fills with happiness for the first time in quite a long time and a small happy tear trickles down his cheek. "Oh, thank you, guys! Thank you so much! You're the best friends a guinea pig could ever have!" The three smile warmly. "You're quite welcome...friend."

As the four slowly step back, a concerned look crosses Lazlo's face. "Uhm, Samson, I'm...very sorry that I missed you before. I never meant to neglect you in your time of need."

"All is well, friend," Samson replies. "I'm sorry that I didn't tell you my real name."

Raj sighs. "Well, it looks like all is well that ends well."

"Ends well." Clam replies.

Feeling lighthearted, Samson begins to traipse back to his cabin with a happy spring in his step. "Goodbye, friends! Thank you so much for everything!" he calls, waving politely.

"Goodbye, friend!" the three call, waving happily in reply. "Please take care!"

As they watch their friend go, the three breathe a happy sigh, feeling wonderful that their friend was happy again. "You did good, Lazlo." Raj says.

"Did good." Clam notes.

The monkey sighs blissfully. "Friendship truly is the most wonderful thing of all."

The end.
