This is basically a one shot thing. It's after the season finale.
Haley sat standing there before him. Feelings surged throughout his body all at once. In his mind he was thinking a million questions. He stood there looking at her with a shocked expression on his face. Quickly, he regained his composure.

"What are you doing here, Haley? I'm sick of this game you're trying to play..."

In mid-sentence, he was interrupted by an unexpected kiss. Haley wrapped him up in her tired arms. A few seconds later, Nathan jerked away.

"What was that, Haley? I'm trying to be calm about this but somehow I just can't. You can't just come back here once in a while because your little boyfriend, Chris, broke up with you."

She stood there for a minute, trying to hold in her tears.

"Nathan, I missed you... I'm sorry"

"You know what, I'm tired of these meaningless sorries from you. You left me for Chris and I'm never going to forget that."

"Nathan, it was never about Chris, I wanted to follow my dream, to become a musician. I thought you would understand."

"Haley, you know what you just said was bull. I came for you in New York, and you had the nerve to tell me that we made a mistake marrying each other!"

"Nathan, I never meant that! You know, I thought you'd given up on us when I saw your signature on the annulment papers Dan showed up with."

Just then, a blue truck pulled up and Lucas came running out.

"Haley, when did you come back?" he said as he hugged her.

He looked at the tense situation between Nathan and Haley, regretting the fact that he came running out.

"Umm, I see you guys are busy, so I'll leave you two alone."

Nathan suddenly spoke up after an understandable silence."Lucas, go ahead, we're finished." He stalked away thinking, 'Yeah, finished for good.'

Haley sat in the corner of her hotel room, curled up in a little ball, crying softly. Suddenly, a telephone rang.

"Hello?" she said, trying her best to sound normal.

"Hey Hales, it's Lucas, my mom wants to invite you to dinner. Be at the cafe at 6."

"Lucas I don't really feel too well. Maybe I shouldn't go"

"Come on Hales, things will work out with you and Nathan."

"Lucas, please don't talk about him right now.

"Okay then, so, will you come?" he asked a little too anxiously.

"Fine, I'll go."

They hung up the phone. Lucas was thinking about something he should do. He picked up the phone and called his brother.

At the Cafe

"Lucas! Where are you? Why is it so dark?" she said as she walked into Karen's Cafe.

She bumped into two figures. It was Lucas and Nathan.

"Hi Hales, he uh, had a few drinks."

Nathan came up to her and started to laugh.

"I can't believe you're back here. You didn't even come when I was in the hospital."

Haley tried to explain, but realized he was probably a little too drunk to listen.

"You really are something aren't you? Breaking my heart, then coming back here when I'm a mess."

He stood there looking at her, her beautiful face looking back at him. He couldn't take it anymore.

"Haley, you know what, I think we should talk things out later."

He forcefully pressed his lips against hers, holding her so tight he thought she would break any second.

"Nathan, what are you doing?" Haley screamed.

He passed out on the floor, with Lucas watching him disgustedly.

Haley started to cry and ran out the door.

"Nathan, you have no idea what you just did, do you?"
