Detroit Become Human: Finding Yourself
Another short Detroit Become Human oneshot, this time focused on Connor. Hope you enjoy it.
Disclaimer: Detroit Become Human belongs to Quantic Dream.
Confusion, that was the word for it, he was sure. That human emotion for when you felt lost inside, when you didn't know what to do next, when you experienced something completely new and wondered how to handle it.
'This is my future now...I, I broke my programming, I became Deviant, despite everything...' Connor thought to himself. 'I feel, this confusion. What do I do now, what will be, my new way of life, now that I'm no longer...bound by my programming to hunt Deviants, now that I'm...free...'
It had come as a remarkable shock to him; he had suffered many emotional shocks throughout his investigation, each one pushing him closer and closer towards Deviancy; so much so that all it took was a few choice words from Markus and Connor realized not only was he being used, but that he hated being used. In that moment, he had broken free, he had broken the trust Amanda and Cyberlife had placed in him.
He tried to reassure himself. 'Yet in its place, I found at least a temporary purpose...But now it's over, we're free...What do I do with myself now?'
He shook his head and tried to focus, things were still calming down after Markus' demonstration, after Connor himself had turned the masses of Androids at Cyberlife Tower Deviant and led them to join Markus. There was a long path ahead of them, but not one that had been pre-set for them by instructions. As he finally prised off his LED, Connor managed a small smile.
'That may be the case, but we still have work to do and there is anything I can do to help, I will do it...Maybe that is my purpose now.' He thought. 'One I've chosen...for myself.'
Discarding the now detached LED, he turned and left the restroom he had been in. After spending a short while questioning himself, he felt ready, it was time to face the future.
End of oneshot, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
