You're here again.

You came so quietly I almost didn't hear you.

But I did. I did because I could feel my heart beating like a hundred horses galloping through a meadow.

I hid as I realized you were here again. It's not the first time I saw you here. And every time I wonder, "what do you see?"

Do you see yourself with your fiancé happily married and embracing each other? Do you see yourself with little children that look like her? Do you see yourself being awarded the Best Potions Master with your new wife by your side?

What do you see? What do you desire? What brings you here every night?

Sometimes I would almost wonder if you see yourself with me; if it would be us embracing instead of you and her; if it would be our children you see. Almost but I would never let myself believe it. After all, life is never happily ever after for me. It never ends that way, at least not for me.

You scoffed and mumbled something I couldn't hear. Then you left, without even knowing I was there.

I came out of my hiding spot and approached the Mirror of Erised. I touched the cold, hard glass.

You're here once again. But you're beside me this time. You smiled and put your arm around my waist and kissed my forehead. I could almost feel it. Almost.

They say people lose themselves to the mirror. I could see why.
