It was a very dreadful night, as Shin, Carla, and Maya tried to escape the attack of their kind. Maya held a small child in her arms, this small child was crying. Their enemies were close behind, and Maya was not running fast enough. She ran as fast as she could, but that was not fast enough. "Shin!" she cried, as she fell. Shin turned back, and tried to help her up. Her leg was stuck under a fallen tree. "Maya, please don't let this be the end of us!" Shin begged his lover. "It'll be the end of me. Take Tera and go! Live for me! I'll be with you in spirit!" Maya said, shoving the child into Shin's arms. "I'm not leaving you," Shin said, fear in his eyes. Maya would not let him be killed too. Maya screamed, "Carla!" Carla came back, and pulled Shin away. "No! Maya!" Shin wept, seeing as the enemy killed his lover. Carla did not let go. "Come on Shin. Don't let her sacrifice be for nothing," Carla said. With a nod, Shin finally started running again. They were safe. They had outrun their enemy, and gotten to a safe location. Shin broke down into tears. "Karl Heinz... no matter if it's the last thing I do... you will be slain!" Shin spoke. Carla felt sorry for his brother. Tera did too, although she was too young to understand anything. Tera started to cry again, and held onto her Dad's shirt. "Dada," she cried. That was her first word. Shin calmed himself down at his daughter's voice. "I'm right here, Tera. We'll be okay," he assured her. Really, he was only assuring himself. Another one of their kind arrived, and another. Until there were four, besides themself. "Ojis, where is the hime?" Grey asked. "She is lost. She sacrificed herself for Tera," Carla replied. "I'm very sorry for your loss," Eve said. "Don't be. Please don't be sorry. It'll only make me feel worse," Shin begged. The door opened wide, and a half blood vampire came in. "Oji Shin!" the man called. "What is it Ruki?" Shin asked. "I went back to the dreadful scene. Look at what I found," Ruki said, holding out a diary. It was the diary of Seiji Komori. Shin took it, and as Tera still held onto him, he opened it. There was a picture of him holding Eve as a baby. He read it.'Yui brings me great joy. The fact that she is not my natural child is no longer important to me. I do fear that I may lose her to the demon king. She was taken recently from my hands, and I don't know where she is. If she is fullfilling her true destiny to become Eve... then Karl has won. If she was taken by the Tsukinami's as a matter of protection and has brought her memories of who she is back, then I have won. Please, Shin, Carla, Ruki... keep Yui safe for all of eternity.'"Eve. Do you remember Seiji?" Shin asked, closing the book. "The man who took care of me until Karl kidnapped me and sent me to his sons as a sacrifical bride?" Eve asked. "Good, you remember. I do recall you found this but it became blank, am I correct?" Shin asked. Eve gave a nod. "Well. It was never meant for you to have in the first place. Ruki, take this with you. Maybe you can get the Sakamaki boys on our side. Eve, you must return to them. Do not inform them of your awakening. Do you understand?" Shin asked. "Yes, Oji Shin. Stay safe," both replied together. Ruki took the diary, and they left. Carla asked, "What now?" Shin looked at his older brother. "Well, Carla, now we wait for the tides to turn to our side," Shin replied.
