Challenge Word: Sharp
A/N: My sister came up with the title, and I think it rocks. However, when I see this word, I can't help thinking about the Stargate SG-1 season 3 episode "Legacy" where my barefoot Daniel Jackson hides in the corner of his padded cell, saying, "I hear footsteps! Footsteps!" He was so deliciously crazy in that episode. But this is Supernatural, which has even more yummy emotional and physical damage to play with.
Sam hated training. He plodded behind, weapon held limply as he kicked at dirt clots.
"Look sharp, Sammy!" His dad reprimanded.
Sam groaned.
"Come on, Sammy, this stuff is important. You're going to need this skill, son."
"But I don't WANT to need it!"
Sam remembers his father's words, and his own resentment. He'd hated that he couldn't just be normal. Now he finds himself truly grateful as his well-honed body responds to his every thought. He is a hunting machine, one of the best, and he has his dad to thank for that.
If only he could thank him.
