I wrote this drabble for the current challenge on blairchuckdaily (community./blairchuckdaily/), it was a 'scene change challenge' but this attempt exceeded the word limit, so I though I'd just post it here instead! Any response is appreciated!

Blair's mouth hung open in disbelief. She felt as though shock had knocked all the air out of her and she struggled to draw oxygen back into her lungs. Sure, she had known that Serena and Nate had slept together, but that had been then. She had been entirely unprepared to find them here, at the masquerade ball, her boyfriend kissing her best friend. For a moment she considered removing one of her pointy, high heeled shoes and hurling it at the across the dance floor (she had good aim, thanks archery lessons courtesy of school and her need to be perfect at everything) but instead she found herself whirling around as though she were on auto-pilot, and walking away as fast as her legs would carry her, barley noticing where here feet were taking her until she reached one of the buildings outdoor balconies. She slammed the door behind her and paused for a moment, to make quite sure she was alone, before she let out a furious scream.

"Blair?" The voice from above her startled her so much that she almost screamed again, before she realised whose unmistakable voice it was.

"Chuck?! What the hell...?" She glanced upwards, trying to locate the source of his voice, before she finally realised that he was standing on another balcony, a few levels up from her.

"I could ask you the same thing. Were you trying to wake up the entire city?" Blair immediately blushed. She wasn't one for dramatic shows of emotions, at least not when other people were around. However Chuck's question reminded her of what she was doing outside in the first place, and she found herself recounting the story to him.

'..They were standing there, kissing in front of everyone... God, I felt so stupid! I just had to get away...'

Chuck frowned in concern, knowing how this must be tearing Blair up inside. He also wondered briefly what the hell was wrong with Nate. Chuck hadn't been exaggerating earlier when he had told Blair she looked ravishing. He pushed the thought aside however; there were more pressing matters to deal with than Nate's sanity. Cheering Blair up, for example. And the fact that he was almost entirely naked. He sighed.

"Blair, come upstairs. Once you've heard my predicament, I promise you won't feel stupid anymore"

"What happened to you?" Blair had considered ignoring him, but curiosity got the better of her.

"Come up here and I'll tell you the story, under one condition" Chuck smirked "Bring a suit"
