Dark Teen Wolf AU inspired by the Nonsense Poem, author unknown.
Disclaimer: I do not own Teen Wolf or the poem. (However, part of me wishes that I did own Teen Wolf, but then again, considering what I put the characters through, it's probably best that I never do.)
"One bright day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
drew their swords and shot each other.
A deaf policeman heard the noise
and ran to save the two dead boys.
And if you don't believe it's true,
go ask the blind man, he saw it too."
They were always together, those two boys.
They were best friends, put through many trials.
It was an unspoken promise that they would always fight for one another.
But they didn't say anything about fighting with each other.
It was quite amazing, really. They would always try to help everyone else, without ever thinking for themselves. It balanced out, however, because they would always worry about the other enough.
But everyone has a breaking point. These two boys were no different.
And one night, they managed to reach it.
They were both beautiful, with their brown hair and matching eyes.
They once had beautiful minds too. But that changed after months and months of constant peril, terror, and death. The ones that meant so much to them noticed it first. They were often so angry with everyone. Someone should have stopped them from being alone that fateful night. But no one noticed, no one knew.
And so it happened. It began like any other argument between friends, but then the demons in their minds took over and the fight became something more.
Forbidden names were spoken of. Broken promises were voiced. Guilt, remorse, and contempt were unveiled and brought to the surface.
Eventually, one of them won, if you call it that. He was able to say something that managed to bring so much guilt to the other boy that he was forced to leave.
Mere hours later he wished the other had never left.
Hours later he wished his rage had never come between him and his best friend.
Because hours later he heard the news that a certain brunette boy had been found hanging in his room.
But he wasn't the only one to go that night, oh no. The other boy kept the promise that they made years ago: when one goes, the other goes.
Two dead boys, two coffins, one funeral.
But, alas, the story doesn't end there, for some still say that they see Scott and Stiles, walking together late at night. So a warning to all: should you see these two dead boys, don't run, don't shout. Not yet. But the stories say that if these boys see you, they'll look you in the eye, and you can still see the remnants of horror in their haunted orbs. While still looking into your soul, a boy, once so innocent, now a ghost, will lean over to his best friend and whisper something in his ear. They'll both flash a crooked grin, and then, in that moment, it is the time to run.
Because that, dear reader, is where the stories end.
Please review! I'm not sure how I feel about this oneshot as of right now, so I'd be happy for some constructive criticism!
