I had to write this for English class and I thought that I'd post it here as well. It's the ending of the short story The Lady Or The Tiger. I hope you all enjoy. I do not own The Lady or the Tiger, but I believer it is in public domain.

The man went to open the right door, at the advising of the Princess. Out came a beautiful lady, whom he wed immediately. They went to his house where he was staying. The man was not actually from the kingdom that the story takes place in, he was there on important, undisclosed business. The Princess was actually the tiger, metaphorically. She was jealous with no end. If she couldn't have the man, no one could. For many days and many nights the Princess stayed in her tower room, planning evilly at what she'd do. One day, the Princess had finally had enough. In the late of the night she had snuck out of her tower and into the man's home. She had killed the sleeping newlyweds with no remorse. The next day, when people had found out and reported the murder, it caught the kings attention. The king declared that whoever it was that murdered the couple would be thrown into the arena with the lady or the tiger.

The Princess had went to her father some days later because she had some bad news for the king. "It was I Father, I was the person who killed the man and his wife." The Princess confessed. She showed no emotion over her wrong doing. The king was shocked and did not know what to do. There was no way he'd throw his daughter, his own flesh and into the arena. But he feared rebellion and loss of power to the subjects so he had to agree with the laws and throw the Princess in the arena.

In the arena the princess was faced with two options. One door contained a hungry, ruthless tiger, and the other contained, in this case a gentleman. The Princess had no one to help her, as she had helped the man. She chose the door on the right, the same one her former lover had chosen. The crowd cheered as the tiger jumped out and shredded the Princess to pieces. Even the royal could not get away from the the strange twisted minds of the kingdom. The two were now together once more in the afterlife, but the man no longer loved the Princess. Everything she had done was for nothing, nothing at all.
