Mechanical
Stab, cut, impale.
All of these motions are common.
Stab the muscle, cut the flesh, impale the body.
All motions that are not unfamiliar.
Because doing these things are all he can do, to stop the pain which threatens to consume him. Hiding from all, a thin layer of leather shielding him from human contact. One which shields him from all who dare break his shell.
Stab, cut, impale.
It is mechanical. It is simple. It is safe. It is easy. When using these motions, all is shaded in black. It is easy to ignore the emotion that threatens to consume his being.
Guilt, sorrow, anger despair.
All these things are what will surface. All these things are what will become of him if he does not stab, cut and impale.
The pain he brings to others is not important. The pain he is bringing to others does not matter. He cares not that he inflicts the same emotions that he is terrified of being engulfed by. All that matters is that he can escape the guilt, sorrow, anger and despair.
Selfish are his motives, but that does not matter.
Stab, cut impale.
It is mechanical, but it is all he can do to escape the darkness.
