Layla's Dance
Layla flies above the waves
Her golden fingers they weave a spell
As she sings and she dances
To the rhythm of the tides.
"I am mist-borne," she sings
And the mist it hears her song
As it rises and it falls
Forming jewels upon her wings.
Layla flies above the waves
Her golden fingers they weave a spell
As she sings and she dances
To the rhythm of the tides.
"I am sea-foam," she sings
And the sea-foam hears her song
As it crashes against the rocks
Setting a crown upon her head.
Layla flies above the waves
Her golden fingers they weave a spell
As she sings and she dances
To the rhythm of the tides.
"I am sea life," she sings
And the corals hear her song
For they build a coloured column
As a sceptre for her hand.
Layla flies above the waves
Her golden fingers they weave a spell
As she sings and she dances
To the rhythm of the tides.
Layla's lips they blow love
Cross the vast and yawing seas
While the mermaids they start dancing
In a chorus they sing her name
"Ya Layla! Ya Layla! Ya Layla!
Long live our beloved queen!
Long may she reign upon the seas!
Long may she prosper upon the waves!"
And Layla's eyes they dance
And Layla's heart it sings
As she halts and then she sways
To the rhythm of the tides.
