So this hasn't really been read through for grammatical errors, but I'm pretty sure I did okay. The story is sort of based off of Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift ft. The Civil Wars on The Hunger Games soundtrack (can't wait for the movie by the way). Anyways, TO THE STORY!

Disclaimer: I don't own the song Safe and Sound, nor do I own Danny Phantom.

I remember tears streaming down your face

When I said, 'I'll never let you go'

When all those shadows almost killed your light

I remember you said, don't leave me here alone

But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes

The sun is going down

You'll be alright

No one can hurt you now

Come morning light

You and I'll be safe and sound

Jasmine Fenton held Danny in her arms as the bombs fell around them. They were in a bomb shelter, but still, anything could happen. Bomb shelter or not, they were not safe.

"Jazz, I'm scared." Danny said quietly, holding on to her fearfully.

"It'll be alright little brother. I'm here, I'll never let you go." Jazz responded, somewhat doubtfully. Their parents had died fighting, and no one was safe. Everything being alright seemed out of reach. She looked at Danny, the small amount of light they had illuminating his tear-streaked face. "We need to have faith, we need to stay hopeful."

"I-I don't know if I can anymore."

"We have to, or we might not make it out of this war alive."

"Stay with me, don't leave. Please."

Jazz just nodded and dug her head into Danny's neck. "I won't, little brother. I'm not going anywhere."

"Is it ever going to end?"

"I don't know Danny, just close your eyes. Go to sleep, and when we wake, we'll still be here. Safe."

"Promise?"

"I promise."

Don't you dare look out your window

Darling, everything's on fire

The war outside our door keeps raging on

Hold onto this lullaby

Even when the music's gone

When the all clear signaled, and they were assured it was not nuclear, Danny stayed while Jazz climbed the many steps out of the shelter. Squinting from the sunlight, she observed her surroundings. There was fire everywhere, burning everything, and hardly nothing was left standing. She went back into the shelter, and hugged Danny. "You can't go out there."

"How bad?"

"Really bad."

"I need to see for myself." He said, Jazz shaking her head in reply. "Please Jazz. I need to know."

"I don't know Danny."

"What about Sam? Or Tucker? I need to make sure they're okay." Danny said pleadingly. The siblings stared at each other for awhile before Jazz finally replied.

"I'm coming with you."

Danny nodded in compliance, and they both walked up the stairs into the light.

Well, this is shorter than I hoped it would be. Probably because I only posted a portion of the song, because I didn't think the chorus really needed to be repeated. Anyways, for now, it's up to you what happens, but I am going to be writing a real fic that this kind of inspired. So until then, you choose the ending.
