Just an idea I thought up.
STAMFORD.
Jim was face down on his desk, drunkenly asleep, as his phone vibrated with a text from Pam in Scranton.
Andy's head suddenly popped up from the other side of the desk, his half closed eyes blurry from his drunkenness. He hazily swayed his head around, looking for the thing that was keeping him from successfully passing out. He followed his ears and found it. Andy focused his eyes to get a better look at the culprit. Jim's phone. Andy quickly grabbed Jim's arm and shook it. "Hey, Big Tuna, your phone's…"
Jim JOLTED awake, scaring the shit out of Andy. "I'm drowning in footwear!" Jim always had crazy nightmares when he drank.
"Huh?" Andy asked in confusion.
"What? What is it?" Jim was now fully awake.
"Your phone, Tuna." Andy picked up Jim's phone and squinted at the screen. "It's a text from somebody named… Dam… Ram… Bam…"
"Pam!" Jim practically jumped out of his chair and grabbed the phone from Andy.
"Yeah, that's probably it." Andy slurred and then dropped back down onto his half-inflated bed.
Jim's heart was beating so fast, he could feel it in his throat.
Sober Jim may not have been so excited to talk to Pam. But drunk Jim was. Drunk Jim had so much to say to Pam.
Which was one of the reason's Jim almost never got drunk. Especially around Pam. Drunk Jim couldn't keep a secret to save his life.
Jim stared at his phone, until his vision cleared, so he could see the text.
PAM
Jim. Call me. You'll never guess what happened.
Jim attempted to punch in the right buttons. But, for the life of him, couldn't.
Yet another reason why Jim tried to avoid being drunk as much as possible.
Jim then remembered the voice thing on his phone.
Jim brought the phone to his mouth and said, "Call Pam."
The phone then dialed Pam's number.
