Title: His Selene

Author: Warangel88

Pairing: StellaxNoctis

Warnings/Spoilers: None really.

Author Note: Based loosely off the story Selene and Endymion from Greek Mythology, and I actually got this idea while working on another StellaxNoctis fic that has close to no relationship to this one. Thanks Ari a bunch for betaing.

Disclaimer: I don't own Final Fantasy Versus XIII

As a child his mother would tell him the story of Selene, the moon goddess and her mortal lover Endymion. How Selene would visit his dreams every night, because it was the only way the two of them could truly be together.

He, himself never gave much thought to the story, or at least not until he met her that is. The blonde ambassador from Tenebrae, who somehow later became his enemy on the battlefield. He was pretty sure though, that the Tenebrae government had probably forced her to, because of her unique ability.

She seemed rather kindhearted, and innocent to be a soldier in this war.

Through his previous fights the blond didn't seemed to want to kill him or anyone else for that matter, even though he could tell that she was experienced fighter.

It wasn't long after their first meeting, that she started to appear his dreams; or maybe it had been the power of the death goddess. Most of the dreams he shared with Stella were conversations they probably would have had if they weren't on the battlefield.

In his dreams with they could talk freely with each other and a lot of his assumptions about her had been correct.

She had been forced to become a solider after her powers manifested. For the most part study in white magic which somehow seemed suiting for her.

The hands of a healer.

He didn't know if those conversations were real or simply a part of his imagination, and what an imagination he has.

She was an enemy and if things were different he could honestly say that they could have been friends at some point. He may care for her on some level, but he silently figured it was because he knew before the war had taken place they had spent a week together working out peace treaty terms, which only failed in the long run.

It wasn't because she wasn't willing for peace between their nations, that wasn't it at all. He'd silently heard that the king of Tenebrae's successor was power hungry and was willing to do anything to get the last remaining crystals, Stella had confirmed it one of their dream talks.

From his encounters on the battlefields, even if more than half of time it would usually take place in cities, she seemed to have some type of knowledge about the dreams that had taken place between them. She had even confirmed having them as well, as well as a lot of things being true and in return he admitted the same.

He didn't know when but his dreams slowly started to change from a "friendship" towards more of a romantic type of dreams.

Maybe it had been when she had had kissed him softly in the shadows of night where no light could have reached them, so that no one could have witness her betrayal to her kingdom. Unlike him if she were ever caught committing such treason she would probably be given a public execution, despite her unique abilities.

The kiss had been soft and chaste; and it had truly been his first kiss. Stella had given him a soft smile before slowly drawing away from him with her cheeks having the faintest touch of pink, before heading towards the inn she was currently staying at.

She had later admitted to him that had been her first kiss as well.

His lips curled slightly as he slowly crawled into the inn's bed having some knowledge that he would see his blonde haired lover as soon as he fell asleep.

His Selene.
