A/N: The scanlations I have are somewhat odd. The actual chapters call the characters: Mika Sawamura and Kaede Mirakami, but the "special chapter" calls them Kasuya and Miyanaga. I'm more inclined to follow the Shoujimagic (first) scanlations though, so I'll still call them Mika and Kaede.
I've written a summary for Nine Puzzle here (ht[ ]tp[ ]:[ ]/[ ]/shoujomanga[ ].[ ]wikia.[ ]co[ ]m/wiki/Nine_Puzzle) if you want to read it. Just take out all the [ ].

You Can Never Win Against the Dead
"It's fine whether it's a vague dream or a more specific desire." - Teacher, Vol 1
I wondered what he was thinking
when I pulled him down…
But I've pulled him down so often:
made him lose,
made him angry,
made him happy, laugh and even cry,
gave him troubles that would never
have come to him otherwise –
because it was my dear worried friend
that had almost stolen a precious dream from him
But I wonder, what is it he really dreams.
He threw his page of dreams away,
scrunched it up as if they were worth nothing
to him.
Maybe he just didn't want anyone to see,
but there were better ways…
There are a lot of things I can't do
for him, a lot of things I still can't know.
If those dreams of his are dead I can't bring them back
like the girl who gave him that ring
But I gave him mine, to wear instead,
and a warmer kiss of life
and while I'll never make that sadness fade
There are some things
I understand
and it's okay I pull him down,
even if he hates me for it, or cries,
because I get a little smile of his in the end
to take away.
You can't crash if your feet are already on the ground
…right?
