A/N: Hello, I was seeing a post on tumblr and it gave me the idea for a small drabble/one-shot type thing between Shion and Safu in the main control room.

"I've always found you beautiful, Shion."

Shion didn't know what to say to that. His eyes watered. He knew how Safu felt about him and for a moment, just for a moment, he wished he thought of her the same way. It was his fault. Safu being like this was his fault. If they had never been friends, if they had never been connected the way they were.

"I'm sorry." It didn't help any he knew that. It wouldn't save anyone. Nezumi had taught him that saying sorry never saved anyone. But right now he wasn't apologizing just for Safu's life being in danger, but for the bigger picture.

You're dear to me, Safu. I love you, I really do, you're my best friend but I don't…no, I can't love you the way you want me to. I couldn't love you enough to have sex with you.

Safu laughed. "Don't apologise, Shion. I understand more than you. I think I did even back then." She glanced at Nezumi who looked taken aback. "You're lucky, Nezumi."

"Eh?" Nezumi said, completely baffled.

Shion's eyes watered, pushing back any humor the situation might have provided. "Safu, Safu we can save you!"

Safu hung her head. She didn't speak but the silence spoke an answer enough. There was no time. No, that couldn't be it. There had to be another way! Shion made to rush forward but suddenly arms were there, pulling him back.

"Oi Shion, don't you get it?" Nezumi said, pulling him back. "That isn't Safu! It's Erulyias! Safu is…"

"No!" Shion snapped. "Don't you dare say it!" Tears cascaded down his cheeks. "We'll save her..." He suddenly grabbed the explosive from Nezumi's pocket, hand shaking with rage. "I'll destroy this city, I'll be the one to put an end to No. 6! I'll destroy it all!"

"No Shion!" Both Safu and Nezumi's voice mixed as Nezumi grasped Shion's wrist.

"Nezumi," Safu said. "Please, take care of Shion. Don't let him ever change."

Shion struggled, then suddenly went limp falling in Nezumi's arms.

Nezumi held him before looking up at Safu. "I don't want him to change either. I lo…care about him a lot too."

Safu smiled. "I know you do. Shion is beautiful, after all. Nezumi? You'll have to destroy me, you know."

Nezumi clutched Shion tighter and nodded, expression unreadable. "I know. That's why I knocked him unconscious. Shion won't be able to see it, even though he knows you aren't really Safu."

Safu glanced at Shion fondly. "That's true. Nezumi, promise me something before it's too late."

Nezumi frowned, clenching a fist. He wasn't good with promises, especially when they were to someone he didn't really know. "Depends on the promise."

"Tell Shion how you feel about him. He needs to know. He needs to know you love him," Safu said staring straight past Nezumi and Shion outside of the window.

Nezumi's cheeks turned a slight shade of pink. "I don't feel…"

"Please, Nezumi," Safu said, her tone having a slight pleading edge to it. "Shion doesn't love Safu because he loves you. Don't let his heart be broken the way Safu's was. Shion loves Nezumi and I can tell Nezumi loves Shion too."

Nezumi felt his heart clench. Shion meant a lot to him. But committing to a relationship of love…he knew though, if he ever wanted to have a serious committed relationship with anyone, it would be Shion. But he didn't think he could tell Shion that bluntly that he loved him, especially not right now.

"I will tell him…just not now," Nezumi said and Safu seemed to relax.

"Thank you, that's all I ask."
