Chapter 1: Introducing the New Guest
I walked through the front door of my apartment after a long day at work. I ordered takeout, poured myself a glass of bourbon and put on the movie, Seven.
I woke up in my bed to the sound of my window being tapped. I looked over, rubbed my eyes and saw an owl using his beak to bang on the window. I don't own an owl but I know they were used in the wizarding community. I opened the window and took the letter before ripping it open.
Dear Hermione:
It has been a long time since we have spent time together. I would love it if you would join me for breakfast this morning. We have much to catch up on.
Kind regards,
McGonagall
After sorting out the details with her, we decided to meet at a muggle restaurant. I walked in and found her suiting at a booth looking over the menu. I smiled and walked to her. "Hi Aunt Minerva."
She looked up at me and the look of adoration crossed her face. "Miss Granger." She said and got up to hug me. "It's good to see you dear."
"Same here." I replied.
"Come, sit." She gestured.
We both sat and she looked at me, studied me. "You look…different."
I smirked. The last time she saw me, I was skinny. Now, I put on muscle and cut my hair short and spiked it a little. My body is well defined. I have a six pack, my body is strong and athletic and I got a few tattoos on my arms and back. "I've been getting healthier." I said.
"And you cut your hair." She said and ran her hand on top of my head through my soft short chocolate brown hair.
"Yeah. It wasn't manageable so I got it cut. Now I have great hair." I replied with a smile.
She nodded, "I agree. It suits you well."
We ordered our breakfast and talked, just catching up. "I have a proposal for you." She said, taking a sip of her coffee.
"Can't wait to hear it." I said, popping a grape in my mouth.
"I want you to be a guest at my school." She said
I stopped chewing. I'm sure it looked comical with a grape puffing out my cheek. I swallowed, "What?"
"I'm serious. I'm interested in expanding the education of muggles to the wizarding community. I want you to show them how muggles operate and think. I'm hoping it is a start to ending prejudice." She said.
"Aunt Minerva, I am sensitive to the cause but…I don't think that is such a good idea." I said
"Why not?" She asked
I opened my mouth but nothing came out. I didn't have an answer for that. What was I suppose to say?
"And it will hopefully quash your dear of witches and wizards." She said, taking a sip of orange juice.
"I-I'm not scared-" I started.
My aunt held up her finger to stop me, "You forget. I know you well Hermione. Your mother thinks it would be beneficial as well."
My mouth dropped, "MM-My mother?! You spoke to my mother about this?" I asked in shock.
"She was quiet pleased with the idea."
I rubbed my temples, feeling a headache coming on. "I'm not scared." I said, defending myself.
"Perfect. Then there will be no trouble in lending me a hand." She said with a triumphant smile.
I always knew that one day my pride and ego would get the best of me. I just didn't think it would happen today. I squeezed my hands together. "No ma'am." I gritted out.
I packed all my stuff and went through the checklist again: clothes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, mousse, hair gel, hair spray, Insanity Max:30 workout program, condoms (don't judge I find some older witches sexy.), makeup, etc.
I met up with my aunt and we arrived at the school together considering that I was a muggle. The castle seemed…dark and gloomy. It was depressing. It matched my mood though. We went inside and she told me to wait while she got things settled before introducing me to the school.
It seemed like forever until Filch came and got me. He led me to huge double doors. "Wait here." He said and walked off.
My heart was racing. I didn't know too much about magic. Just that about anything could happen. I felt like something could jump out at me and attack me. I was breathing hard, my adrenalin was running through my body and I was breathing really hard, puffing out air. I dressed nicely for the introduction. I wore a button down shirt, vest, black slacks and black dress shoes. This outfit hugged my body tight, showing off my fit body. It was a defense mechanism. I wanted to make myself appear unapproachable. I started to jog in place, trying to relive the tension in my body and burn off the anxiety.
Finally, I heard my aunt's voice, "Please allow me to introduce you to Hermione Granger!"
Just then, the double doors opened by themselves and I stopped jogging. I waited for the doors to open and I saw the crowd of people all seated at their tables. I forced a smile and began walking towards her, looking around at everybody. I nodded once, "How are you all doing?"
I noticed a beautiful blonde woman staring at me with a predatory smile on her face the entire time. What was peculiar was that she seemed to be too beautiful to be human. When I arrived in front of my aunt when she told me to have a seat. I looked around. That seemed too hard. This place was packed. How was I suppose to find a seat?
"Ms. Granger?" I looked to my aunt and she pointed to an empty seat a couple seats to the left of her. I heard a few chuckles from the students.
"Thank you." I took my seat and still felt the blonde's burning gaze on me.
"Please enjoy your meals." She said and then a mountain of food appeared everywhere.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Flitwick." He said, offering me his hand.
I shook it, "Same here sir."
We began talking and about ten minutes later I felt someone staring at me. I looked over and saw the same woman staring at me. She blew a kiss to me and a glowing blue bird flew to me before resting on my lap. I went to touch it but it poofed into thin air.
Flitwich chuckled. "Looks like you have a veela on your tail dear girl. Good luck. They're nearly impossible to shake off."
I looked to him, "A what?"
The next chapters will be longer. I'll try to update again this weekend.
If you're interested, I'm also working on another Fleur/Hermione story. In that one, it takes place after the war. Hermione deals with anger problems from being tortured by Bellatrix. Guess who her therapist is? *Big Hint: Fleur*
