Troy and Gabriella's relationship was going really well and bordering on one year. Gabriella was deliberating between New York and LA. Obviously Troy couldn't leave LA, but Gabriella, she was a freelance journalist - she could work anywhere. So maybe it was time for a move.

And those thoughts turned into words, words in a conversation on the phone with Troy.

"Troy I'm thinking about moving," whispered Gabriella one evening.

"To?" asked Troy.

"LA," she whispered.

The words were out now and she couldn't take them back.

"Where has this come from?" asked Troy.

"Well it's been a year and I don't know," said Gabriella.

"If you didn't know you wouldn't be saying," said Troy.

"Maybe I want to be spontaneous!" exclaimed Gabriella.

"You're never spontaneous," Troy pointed out.

"I am," argued Gabriella.

"Name a time," said Troy.

"Now," said Gabriella.

"Huh?" asked Troy.

"I'm outside your apartment building. Can you please let me in? It's freezing and my bag is heavy," explained Gabriella.

"Do you have more than one bag?" asked Troy.

"Troy, cold and heavy. Please let me in or I'll go back to NYC and you'll owe me for a plane ticket," she said.

"Do you want help with your bags?" asked Troy.

"Yes please," answered Gabriella. hanging up.

Moments later Troy was in the lobby, bare footed and getting weird looks from the tenants in the lobby, which at 10pm, isn't many.

"What did you do?" asked Troy as he opened the door to let Gabriella in.

"I was spontaneous," said Gabriella, as Troy grabbed two of her suitcases.

"You moved," he accused.

"I'm not moving for a couple of weeks," said Gabriella as they got into his apartment.

"What do you mean?" asked Troy.

"I'm going to look for a place here," said Gabriella.

"Absolutely not, you're staying here," said Troy.

"I was hoping you'd say that," said Gabriella.

"What about your flat in New York?" asked Troy as they sat on the sofa.

"It's still mine. I bought it outright when I found it. So it's in my name. It's not losing any money because there is no tenant and it's fine," said Gabriella.

"So if we go and stay in New York," said Troy.

"We have a place to stay without paying for hotel expenses," said Gabriella, "and when I have to go do some writing in New York which is probably going to be once a month I have a place to stay," she said, snuggling into his shoulder.

"You tired?" asked Troy.

"Yeah long day," she yawned.

"I'll say, what time did you start your journey?" asked Troy.

"Um about 45 hours ago I think," yawned Gabriella.

"You drove," said Troy sitting up.

"Yeah started at 6am yesterday and drove 23 hours to Nebraska got there at 3.30 am this morning stopped at an 24 hour motel and started my journey again at 7am this morning," yawned Gabriella.

"You know when you phoned I thought it was 1am with you and you'd just got in from a night out or something," said Troy.

"I'm really tired," whispered Gabriella, dozing off.

"I don't doubt it," said Troy, standing up.

"Troy," mumbled Gabriella, as he scooped her up.

"Yeah," whispered Troy.

"Love you," mumbled Gabriella.

"Love you too," whispered Troy.

"Reckon I'll sleep till at least 9," yawned Gabriella.

"Go to sleep," whispered Troy, placing her on their bed. "Their bed," he thought, they now shared a bed, an apartment. There was going to be some big changes to get used to.

But in her heart, Gabriella knew she had made the right decision.
