This is my first fanfic so I'm just figuring out how to do this. I'm not that with grammer or spelling so just bare with me. And try to enjoy

Chapter one

A black hedgehog was walking down the street making his way home to his apartment. The street wasn't very busy besides one guy jogging, which was normal because not many people are out this late, especially at this time of year. Christmas wasn't the happiest time for Shadow

It wasn't the happiest time because the ARK was shut down and he lost everything he cared about right before Christmas. He liked to be alone this time of year

He was about to enter his building when his phone rang. "Amy" he said looking at who was calling. Shadow answered the phone Shadow- "what?"

Amy- "are you sure you don't want to come to the Christmas party tomorrow?"

Shadow-"I already told you no when you asked me a week ago and the answer is still no."

Amy-"but it's going to be a lot of fun, Cream's baking cookies, were all having dinner together, there's still some decoration to put up, and then there's the secret Santa stuff, and-" but Amy was cut short by Shadow

Shadow- "no thanks Amy, I just don't feel up to a Christmas party right now"

Amy- "O.K., but if you change your mind feel free to drop by." CLICK Shadow hung up.

I looked around my apartment, there was a small tree on his glass top coffee table with a few gifts under it, big TV on one side of the table, brown leather couch on the other, an aquarium had some tropical fish in it, kitchen with stainless steal stove and fridge and marble like counters, nice bedroom and bathroom. Only thing missing was someone to enjoy it with. Maybe I'll would take Amy up on her offer and go to the Christmas party, even if it ment seeing Sonic, it bet being here alone.

Wait what am I thinking, why would I go to a Christmas party. Yeah right Shadow get real. All this depression must be making me delusional. It was late so I took a shower, watched some TV, and went to bed.

As I slept under the white and red cover I dreamt a dream I hadn't for a while. I was running down a hall dragging a girl with blond hair and wearing a blue dress. We were running for our life. We stopped and she pushed me into an escape pod, but she didn't get in. "what are you doing" I say. "Shadow, bring humanity hope". Her dying words and a gun shot is all I hear before I was shot into space for 50 years. I woke up in cold sweat and wondered, I solved the mystery of my past so why am I having the dream now? Oh well, I went back to sleep. I herd a noise, a familiar voice. "Shadow don't be such a grump all the time". "Maria?!" I look around and I'm in a brown armchair in front of a lit fireplace. Maria was also in front of me. She smiled and then I woke up. Well I guess I was going to Amy's party later today.

Did I do good? If I made any mistakes let me know how I can improve it in a review. After all its my first fanfic and first time writing anything that's not school related.
