Monty Cora. That was the alias he gave himself.
He couldn't think of anything else. Names were a foreign concept for him. It was Max that named him.
Max. He had ran away in fear of the strange feeling growing inside him.
So, he turned to boxing. Why not use the skills Manticore drilled into their brains day after day since the moment they were born?
They had asked for a name. And on the spot that is what rolled off his tongue. He couldn't change it. So, it stuck.
But, every time the crowd called out for him, Monty Cora, it stung. Making him wish he had never chosen that name, that reminded him of things he wished he blot out of his mind, in the first place.
