Okay so I'm new to Fanfiction and this is my first story, so sorry if it's not that good. I love Make it or Break It and I love Lauren and Kaylie! Hope you guys like it! Please review!

What exactly does it mean to be best friends? Is a best friend the person who you share your most private thoughts with, your deepest and darkest secrets, or maybe just a simple inside joke?

For the longest time Lauren Tanner and Kaylie Cruz were the definition of best friends. They were closer than sisters and they trusted each other more than anyone. They had been best friends since they were 5 years old, but recent events have threatened to tear them apart.

All throughout their lives Lauren and Kaylie were thought by everyone to be perfect. They were both beautiful from the time they were born to right now, at age 16. Neither one of them ever had an awkward phase. Lauren with her long blonde hair and bright green eyes that seem as if they go on for miles and glowing, Italian tanned skin. She is a short girl, only reaching about 5-1 ½, but that little frame is full of power and strength.

Kaylie, brunette with big, sweet brown eyes. She is Spanish so she has that naturally tan skin that other girls envy. She is petite, a little taller than Lauren, but not as muscular, but plenty of strength on her own.

They had been training together at the Rocky Mountain Gymnastics Center since they were five. It was at the Rock that they established themselves as future Olympic contenders. They were coached by none other than Olympic medalist, Marty Walsh.

Marty was a great coach and turned Lauren and kaylie from little girls who pranced around and flashed big smiles at judges into tough, resilient star gymnasts. From a young age Lauren tanner was thrilled by the feared balance beam. It scared most of her fellow gymnasts, but she wasn't scared, she was excited. Marty saw the talent and fortitude she had on beam, and so he taught everything about the beam. He made her the "queen of the beam."

Kaylie has always been the more girly between her and Lauren. Kay took naturally to the floor. She loved to dance and she had just the right amount of strength to be able to perform difficult tumbling passes to combine with her dance elements.

Things were going so well at the gym. The girls were only a few years away from the Olympics and they couldn't wait to go there and win gold together. Then Lauren found out kaylie was dating the guy Lauren has had a crush on since they were 12 years old, Carter Anderson. But she couldn't be mad at kaylie because Lauren never told Kaylie that she liked him so Kaylie had no idea.

When kaylie first told Lauren that she was dating Carter, Lauren's heart sank and it took all she had to force a smile on her face and to act happy for her best friend.

Lauren had to admit that kaylie and carter looked beautiful together and they seemed so in love, but Lauren just couldn't help the feeling that resurfaced in her. The feeling of being left behind by her best friend, the feeling she got the night Lauren's mother walked out on her and her father, abandonment.
