A song that I've written about the character Mae. In my mind I hear it as being a metal song.

I want to go home again
Where things are not just things
Aren't just shapes inside my head
I want to leave this place behind
Head for a more solid ground
Where I can feel safe and sound

But can I be safe
Can I be free
From my past that is still haunting me?

I have nightmare eyes
They burn forever
Bright within the night
No one can flee
I have no more strength left to fight
My demon who waits here for me
For only I can see
My reality escaping me

A bat held in my hands
Slowly I feel whole again
I feel as if I have
Gone backwards in time
Back to the day where it began
Where everything changed for me
