Once upon a time, there lived two very different princesses. Both were born under the royal families of the wondrous land of Illusiona; one to the royal family of Sanchez, the other to the family of Manson. But that was where their similarities ended.

The first was a lovely princess of traditional stature. She adored long ball gowns and giant parties, all paid for by her father. She had learned her manners and perfected them to a T. There were rumors of a nasty streak extended towards her servants, but anyone found spreading such rumors would be immediately banished from the kingdom. All in all, she lived the life of a pampered brat.

The second was a hidden princess. Her parents were so ashamed of her that they kept her hidden for years. However, in hiding Princess Samantha-who was to be known by Sam-learned a great deal. She grew to be ever rebellious, and still one of the brightest minds in the kingdom. When she turned 16, her parents decided she was old enough to marry and announced her existence to the public. Enraged, Sam fled. And that is where our story begins.

In her chamber, Sam quickly gathered her plainest and blackest clothes. She stuffed them into a woolen drawstring bag and looked around her room. She grabbed a handful of gold and silver coins, a few necklaces to be traded for money, seven wooden balls (she could make money juggling) and two simple hats. As she was about to leave, she grabbed an ancient stuffed puppy. It was a gift she had received long ago from a mysterious stranger. To that day, she still wondered who he had been.

Satisfied that she had everything she needed, she quietly tied her long black hair back with a small strip of leather cord. Donning a pair of leather gloves, she climbed out of the window. Her bag of items hung off her back and for what must have been the thousandth time, she cursed how useless skirts were.

The climb down was difficult, but Sam loved it. It was the gateway to her freedom. After gently lighting down, she crossed the property stream on an old fallen log and made her way into the Sheraton forest.

16-year old Daniel was looking for something to show Tucker. He wasn't sure what it would be, but it had to beat the deer with three antlers Tucker had shot last week. He was trying his hardest to be quiet, but even so, he managed to startle something. He heard muffled crashing. However, the sound puzzled him. The sound was completely wrong for a deer, but it couldn't be anything smaller. Danny briefly considered that it could be a bear, but they never came that close to a village.

He also noticed that instead of dashing off, the noise got closer. That was enough to convince Danny that something was wrong. He foolishly headed straight towards.

Sam was exhausted. She'd been traveling for three days through the forest with no village in sight. Her legs were sore and scratched; she was dizzy and light-headed from lack of food. And worst of all, she was completely lost. She was on the verge of losing consciousness when she noticed the boy.

"Who…" started the boy. She lacked the strength to reply. The boy started to run towards her as the world tilted sideways. The sky rushed forward to meet her, but something stopped her. Before her eyes closed, she saw the boy's concerned face. Then, everything went black.
