"Oh ho ho, lookit Evans!" pointed Sirius Black. He pushed himself up into a sitting position on the couch and nudged both James and Remus, who had been dozing off. They looked up to see a very annoyed yet very beautiful Lily Evans, who had just changed from her school robes into a bright blue summer dress. James's jaw dropped as Sirius asked, "Why so dressy?"
Lily rolled her eyes. "Not like it's any of your concern." She continued walking past the 3 boys, all of whom exchanged a silent nod and immediately jumped up to follow her.
"Ah, c'mon Evans!" jeered Sirius again. "Have you got a date?" They were circling around her as she walked, James tossing and catching his snitch (as usual).
"Again, not that it's any of your concern, but yes. I have a date," she said, sounding irked. The Marauders, as they called themselves, pestered her to the point of mental exhaustion.
James walked in front of her as she turned a corner, putting his hand up on the wall to stop her in her tracks. "But I haven't even asked you yet! You must be getting better at Divin-"
"I'd rather eat slugs, Potter." Lily brushed her bright ginger hair out of her face, gave James a quick glare, and darted under his arm through the hallway. James smirked as he and the other Marauders (sans Peter, who was probably off foraging for food) ran after her.
"So who is it, then?" James asked.
"None. Of. Your. Concern." Lily was considering climbing the walls to get away from the 3 boys, though she of all people knew there was no escape once their eyes were set on their target.
"Sounds like Snivellus is gonna be getting lucky tonight then, eh?" Remus laughed, jostling the other boys who were beginning to catcall. Lily stopped dead in her tracks, turning on her heels to glare at her fellow prefect.
"His name is Severus, Lupin. And no. For your information, I'm meeting Amos Diggory for tea. Now will you take your band of half-wits somewhere else before I'm forced to do something I regret?"
James smirked, wiggling his eyebrows. "Fine, we'll leave you be, Evans. But how about a kiss before I go, eh?" He walked towards her, and she quickly drew her wand.
"How about I hex you into next week, you empty-headed prat?" She stormed off, clearly quite flustered.
"Love you too, Lily!" James called after her, laughing.
