Once again, another fic while I'm here at school. I'm thinking of just completely deleting my other story, the one with Gaara and Hinata. I've been fixated on other things (like those two yuri fics I did ). Anyway, here's a RenjiRukia fic!

I do not own Bleach.

DREAM ON

Renji sighed and plopped down on the couch. He was in Ichigo's house, waiting for Rukia and Ichigo to get home. He had a little free time on his hands, and decided to hang around with them for a while. As Renji waited, he looked around the room, and, seeing an iPod sitting on the table, picked it up and played with it for a while (but not after he found Yuzu's terrifying Aqua songs!).

"Renji-san? What're you doing here?" Reji, while freaking out about the stuff on the iPod, had not noticed Ichigo and Rukia walking in.

"Oh, hey. I had a little time on my hands. I figured I would just come here and hang around." Ichigo threw his backpack in Renji's face, only to be the recipient of Rukia's foot to the face. Renji stood.

"Jeez, if I knew it was going to be this rough, I would have rather hung out with Yumichika." Renji said. Rukia sighed.

"I'm going for a walk. It's too…boring, I guess."

"I'm coming with you." Renji said. Rukia's eyebrows raised.

"In your uniform?" Renji looked down at his clothes.

"Oh." Rukia gave Renji a small smile before running up the stairs, returning a minute later with a pair of baggy jeans and a t-shirt, a light jacket thrown over her shoulder.

"Here. Change into these and then we can go," she said, handing the clothes to Renji and going off to find an empty room.

Renji walked out of the bathroom, wearing the Kung-fu Generation t-shirt, baggy blue jeans, and a light, black jacket over the t-shirt. His hair was now in a tight braid, seeing that it wouldn't look quite right with the outfit. Rukia and Ichigo were sitting on the couch, Rukia reading another manga, Ichigo sleeping. Rukia looked up.

"Oh, there you are." Rukia put her book down and stood, looking Renji over.

"Hey, you really don't look that bad. Ichigo doesn't wear those anymore these days. Maybe you should keep them with you." She said, as they left the house. Renji looked down at himself.

"I guess they look okay." He said. Rukia and Renji walked in silence, walking to the park. Renji looked over and down at Rukia. He'd never been much to look at, that he could admit, but Rukia pointing out that he looked good seemed a bit like a godsend to him.

"Renji-san? You okay?" Renji's thought focused back on the current situation. Rukia was staring up at Renji, eyes bright, shiny.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just thinking." Rukia and Renji stopped and sat down on the curb of the road. Rukia and Renji looked around. Renji, in his mind, was beginning to freak out. He had always thought that Rukia was cute, maybe even hot on a certain level, but now that he was alone with her, his thoughts racing back and forth in his mind, he was nervous of the outcome.

"You know what I like about this place, Renji?" Renji's mind came back to reality. Rukia was looking around.

"What?" Rukia pointed up into the sky.

"The sun here…It has all those colors…the sun in the Soul Society doesn't have all of them…just the orange…" Rukia looked up at Renji. Renji, without noticing what exactly he was doing, had leaned in closer to Rukia. Rukia's eyes widened, and she blushed.

"Rukia…" Rukia blinked.

"Yes…Renji?" Renji closed the distance between them in one swift movement.
