Dreams and Memories
Edward sat up in bed and contemplated his nightmare. Blood pooled on the ground around him, and his screams filled the chill air. Shivering, he looked up at the leering face of his adversary. It was another alchemist, name and reasons unknown to him. The other stood above him, gloating in his victory.
Then, a ball of green thunder hurled itself at the other alchemist. Ed swore and tried to get up. When he failed he slumped back into his position against the wall and watched the fight between the green thing, and the alchemist.
The alchemist made a fast move and slashed the green things arm. It swore in an all too familiar voice. Envy, the green thing was Envy. He watched in horror and wonder as the two fought. Why was Envy doing this? What did he hope to accomplish from saving him? An awful thought struck him; it would probably be better to die at the hands of the alchemist, than to be slowly tortured by Envy.
"Well," He thought, "to bad for Envy, I'm probably not going to make it through the fight." Somehow he wasn't scared of dying
Struggling to keep his eyes open, he continued to watch them. The alchemist, he noted, was doing better than Ed would have. That was the sixth time envy had died. Then he made a mistake. He left himself open for a fraction of a second, and he was dead before he knew what he had done wrong. The homunculus dropped the corpse of the unknown alchemist and walked over towards Ed.
He grinned and said "Poor chibi, your a mess."
"Go to hell!" Edward spat
"Really chibi is that..." He cut off.
Ed knew it wouldn't make a difference, but that bastard dying one more time made him feel better. He pulled his automail sword out from Envy's chest. Envy gasped a little and held his hand to his newest wound. Ed almost smiled as he saw how slowly it was regenerating.
"Is that" The Homunculus continued "the way to treat the person who's going out of their way to save your sorry ass?"
"You're not a person" Ed argued, "you're a monster" His vision was blurred now and fading out at the edges.
" Maybe so, pipsqueak, maybe so. Perhaps you'll understand monsters a little better after this"
Ed saw the glint of something silver in Envy's hand.
"Wha, what are you..." His strength failed him. The last thing he saw was the knife hovering over, not his own thigh, but Envy's. Then he passed out.
Edward tensed up in bed. It was bad enough that it had actually happened, but did he still have to be dreaming about it a year later? Just then the doorbell rang, somehow he had an inkling to who it was. He got out of bed, and opened his violet eyes.
Authors notes? Not really. I appreciate feedback though.
