Amalia in the past had been a fairly beautiful town. It wasn't quite as pretty as other towns, but the mayor had put a lot of work into making it the way it was. That was until the need for a particular kind of roses. Chadder knew her intentions the day she had gotten her new watering can from her secretary that morning. He knew her too well after all.

The mayor had refrained from touching the thorny black flowers that lay in front of her house for days, even weeks. One day while he had been on his usual morning stroll, he had noticed the mayor staring blankly at the black roses. He had known her to do this quite often as she would often freeze in her tracks, not moving for hours at the most.

Chadder stared at her for a few moments before she suddenly snaps back into reality. Then with a look of what appeared to be a mix of uncertainty and glee, she ran to the town hall. It was right after that the town began to fall apart….

The next day Chadder was woken up by a knock on his door. Slowly but surely, he managed to roll himself off of his couch and made his way toward the door. He then opened it to reveal Isabelle on the other side. "Good morning !" she greeted him with her usual happy tone.

Chadder mumbled a sleepy greeting before she continued,"The mayor has asked me to inform everyone that as of today the ordinance of the town has been changed to the bell boom ordinance."

Chadder nodded a bit confused. The mayor took pride in the towns flowers, but hated watering them so why would she change the ordinance? Chadder suddenly snapped out of his thoughts when Isabelle started talking again. "Well I suppose I shouldn't keep you any longer" she says, "have a nice day!"

He waves goodbye before closing the door. He walks back into his house, throwing himself onto his couch. He looked around his house for a moment. To Chadder, his house was fairly decent, but when he thought about it, what most of the residents called a house was really nothing more than a small room. Heck, most houses even had bigger rooms than what the villagers were content with. He supposed that's why the mayor never really liked to stay in anyones house for too long, as she was the only person who actually owned what could be considered an actual house.

Chadder looks over to his window as the sun begins to rise. Deciding it was a good time to wake up, he rolls off of the couch one more and switches out his night shirt with the royal blue and gold one that he had come across at the clothing store. While, he thought the design was a bit unusual, his best friend had made it so he liked it regardless.

After a bit of preparation, Chadder walks outside of his house. As he normally did, he wandered around outside of his house until the mayor woke up, which was usually some time past noon. At about 3:17, the mayor had finally made her way out of her house. Upon exiting her house, she immediately walked up to Chadder as she always did after which she would look over to her flowers and re-enter her house once more.

This went on for a few more days. Around the end of the week, instead of going home immediately, she decided to go and talk to everyone in town before going back inside. It was at that moment that he had realized what was going to happen.
