Ron fiddled with the wireless. He kept tuning the stations while muttering the name Mad-eye. Lee said it was today. Any minute now. The wireless clicked and Ron heard the static voice of Lee Jordan.

Hello, listeners. River here.

"Ron, turn it off." George moaned.

"No."

I'm happy to inform you that this will be the last Potterwatch program for the war is over and Voldemort is dead!

"Ron!"

"No! He's one of your best mates!"

On the very unfortunate side of things, many good people have died before the end. You may come out of your hiding places to celebrate, but here are the good, smiling faces you won't see anytime soon.

"Turn it off, Ron!"

"Just listen, will you? We owe them that much."

Bertha Jorkins

Cedric Diggory

"Ron, please," George begged.

Marlene Mckinnon

Gideon and Fabian Prewett

Dorcas Meadowes

Amelia Bones

"Ron!"

"Shut it, will you? I'm trying to hear."

Emmaline Vance

Florean Fortescue

Anna Abbott

Regulas Black

Charity Burbage

"Ronald Weasley," George growled. "Turn it off!"

Rufus Scrimgeour

Severus Snape

Bathilda Bagshot

Ted Tonks

Dirk Cresswell

Gornuk the goblin

Dobby the free elf

George didn't understand why Ron refused to turn it off. They were both sobbing, anticipating what was about to be heard.

Colin Creevy

Lavender Brown

Harry sat on the floor behind the couch so neither George nor Ron noticed he was there.

Sirius Black

Alastor Moody

Albus Dumbledore

"Please, Ron?" George pleaded.

Lily Evans-Potter

James Potter

"Ron, turn it off," Harry spoke, startling the brothers.

Nymphadora Tonks-Lupin

Remus Lupin

Fred Wea-click

Ron shut it off. He thought it would help. But it didn't. The three boys silently cried as the loss of all those people sunk in. Lee was right; they would never see those smiling faces at Diagon Alley or Hogwarts ever again.
