Just another one shot I wrote for my English class...
Obituary-City of Bones by Clarissa Clare
"Young Jace Wayland, a true Shadowhunter, died in battle at the hands of my brother, Sebastian, on November 21, 2012." Clary Fray seemed to choke on the lump that had formed in her throat and she ran a shaky hand through her knotted orange ringlets, before clearing her throat and continuing, "He was a beloved son, brother, friend and boyfriend. He was a true warrior through and through till the end, his skills will be missed among his Shadowhunter brethren."
She took a shaky breath, "Jace has saved my life on more than one occasion but has never…" Clary seemed to have lost her breath and she toyed with the edges of her white funeral shift, "But at the battle of the Shadowhunters, he gave his life in order to save me. And for that, I thank him." She found that she could no longer speak as her throat swelled with unshed tears. Her stepfather, Luke, slowly guided her away from the wooden podium that stood in front of the many people that had gathered for the funeral service. His grip on her was soft like she would break into pieces at any moment. The tears that had previously dotted her emerald eyes were freely flowing down her cheeks as she took her seat beside the hysterical Isabelle, who was donned in her white funeral gown.
When it was Clary's turn to place her rose on to the pyre that held her lover, she stopped and stared at the burial shroud covered body. Placing a soft kiss on Jace's cold, dead forehead, she laid her rose next to him and practically leapt into Simon's awaiting arms. It was there that she wept her little heart out, mourning for the loss of her boyfriend and her best friend as his ashes were swept into the wind that ruffled her orange curls, much like he used to do.
After the sadness had left her, all Clary felt was anger towards her evil brother; anger and hatred, more so than ever before. Her small hands curled into fists as she snarled at the sky. She vowed in that moment, that the next time she saw Sebastian, she would be ready. She would kill him.
I have a running bet with my buddies...is it pronounced Jace or JC? I think its JC, cause it was supposed to be short for Johnathan Christopher but my friends think otherwise...The movie comes out in August! It better be amazing! It will be what am I saying?
