He shook his head, his multicolored locks shifting a little with the momentum, attempting to sweep away the thoughts in his mind. It was almost a waking dream, watching the caramel-colored strands whipping and swirling as the boy in front of him rushed toward him, a gigantic grin plastered on his face. The boy's weight hit his chest with a soft thump, and soon he was breathing in the poignant smell of… what was it? It wasn't perfume. He chuckled as he imagined his lover wearing any sort of scent. But that was what he loved about that Slifer Red duelist. He was carefree and confident, there to ease tension and bring smiles wherever he went. Hearing his slight laughter, the red-clad boy looked up at him with shiny, curious brown eyes. He felt his lips curl up into a rare smile and his arms tighten around Jaden.
Evening fell, and the two trailed their warm, interlocked hands. The lights of Neo Domino City shone like stardust. So many people were out, but the pair's sheer coexistence blotted out everything to a dull blur, the only thing in focus being the cherry red and mousy brown strolling next to him and gazing with wide chestnut eyes at the city. He could faintly feel the warmth of the other boy's hand through his glove. He felt a little awkward and darkened around the cheeks, bashfully and silently removing his hand from the brown-haired duelist's hand. Jaden looked at him again curiously. As always, he didn't answer those eyes with words. Words were too rigid, too shallow to express what he felt. He cautiously removed his glove and shoved it in his pocket. The other boy immediately realized what he was doing and beamed. This time, their fingers were truly laced together, skin on skin, sticky warmth mingling with sticky warmth. He squeezed his lover's fingers, wishing for this to last forever, a weighty wish compressed into this one gesture. All he needed was one gesture, and Jaden understood each perfectly.
The soft blanket of night laid itself to rest on the city. Jack and Crow were out, and it was just Jaden and himself left in the building. The soft click of his deft tools on the machine was the dominant sound. The near-silence seemed to have seeped into his boyfriend's consciousness, as the Slifer duelist spoke only in whispering tones to admire his handiwork. Despite this, that eternal smile shone bright as ever, inspiring him, lifting him. A comical yawn broke both silence and smile, and he felt his own smile form on his face. He continued to work with steady skill, though a hopeful face appeared before him as he was reattaching a part of the D-wheel. He made a noise which remarked softly on this interruption. Jaden, carefree as ever, simply took the part from his hands, gently laid it beside them both, and graced his lips with a sweet kiss. He pulled the brown-haired boy closer as he momentarily forgot his work, his life, his dueling, everything. He was lost, finally lost, and that reprieve washed over him in a refreshing wave. For that precious minute, he was no longer Yusei Fudo, the star of Satellite. He was Yusei, someone with someone else to love.
A/N: This was a short little vignette-type thing I typed up really quickly. I recently got into YGO and Starshipping and thought I should share this. |D I hope I captured whatever relationship these two could have. They are so cute together.
