Chapter: 1- Defending against emotions
"Heero, I feel unsure about my position, I just don't know anymore..." Relena said in a wistful manner as she looked at the ground, her last strand of will broken.
"Relena, everyone is depending on you this time, you just can't sit and watch anymore, you have to take action yourself." Relena shifted uncomfortably and then looked at the chocolate eyes of the pilot standing before her, monotone and emotionless as always.
"Why wasn't I aware of the situation before, Zech's is gone and I should be informed first in command as the head of the Peacecraft family, where is all this information going?" For a moment Relena could have swore to see a glint, a glimmer of regret and perhaps guilt cross Heero's face. "You received letter concerning the matter Relena but I hid them away." Relena was astonished, shocked, she took a step back.
"Why? It was you who suggested that I took the matters into my own hands. Even if I was to walk into a trap wouldn't you be glad? You are out to kill me after all." Heero sighed and said once again monotonously. "It doesn't matter now; I'll assemble the other pilots as your backup Relena, until then don't do anything." Relena would have demanded to know who he thought he was, but she was talking to Heero Yue, and so she held her tongue.
"Heero I understand your concern for-- Relena stopped and paused, she wanted to say for herself but suddenly changed her point, your concern for the colony." Heero nodded and disappeared through her window, to a place that even Relena did not know off. "I can never figure you out Heero, but I don't want to impulse something else in between. I'll have to be careful next time that we talk." She let her hair flow through the billowing breeze that was coming from the window that was still ajar from Heero's leave. "Then again, how can I ever know if you feel the same way if you won't let me know?"

Heero was faced against a choice he didn't want to make, a choice that he'd never know to affect him so much.
"If Relena is crowned Queen after this battle is abolished then I can no longer protect her. Her status would be damaged. And her decision towards the matter won't count. As for her brother--he will reappear; Zech's isn't dead just yet. Relena, you're just too complicated for me to handle anymore."
"You're too obvious, Yue." Heero turned, in actual surprised to see Milliardo Peacecraft before him. "My sister won't give up so easily, Yue. If anyone dares to stand in her way about you I don't think I have to describe to you the consequences. Yue, I trust you with my sister, if you don't want to get killed I suggest you stop thinking foolishly. I will reappear soon, and even aid my sister in the battle disguised, Relena would give her position and more for you Yue. Are you so blind as to figure that out. When we fought she wished for my death not yours."
"She did not know it was you, Zech's. If she would have known...."
"She would have still wanted you to live, no matter how you mask it; I know you know this as well."
"Zech's, what are you doing here, you're not supposed to come out just yet. You're in a dangerous position right now."
"Yue, I have allies, and places to hide, don't worry about me. Worry about my sister. Not that you aren't already, Yue."
Heero couldn't protest to the apparent point and nodded in agreement. "Don't worry Yue, my sister is more considering than I am. I will see you in battle next time." Heero could only nod as his thoughts drifted back to Relena.
The girl he had fallen in love with.
