She was so beautiful it almost scared him when she was coming down the aisle at her Father's arm.
What had he done to deserve this - he had no idea.
It wasn't Edith's beauty Bertie had fallen in love with, although he had of course noticed it from the start. It was how easy she was to be with and talk to. And during that night it was her stubbornness and determination.
She was a remarkable woman.
But in that dress - she looked absolutely stunning. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
And she had agreed to be his.
And she really wanted him. Poor Bertie Pelham, whom people always forgot. That was the most remarkable thing. She had loved him long before he got the title and the estate, that hadn't mattered to her.
He was so lucky.
He knew he had been an idiot giving her up that time, when he finally had thought he had won her. He had broken her heart and his own, it was both cruel and stupid.
He was worried about being a Marquess, of living up to the expectations. Of course he was.
But the most important expectations he had to live up to were Edith's. To keep her and her little daughter happy.
He loved her so immensely.

I haven't seen the CS yet, they send it on Boxer Day in Sweden, but I have seen Edith in that lovely dress. Stunning, best wedding gown in DA. I'm happy.
