Antonio was dissapointed.
He walked down the driveway of the firehouse. "Casey... I cant thank you enough for telling me..." He said as he approached Matt who was leaving at the end of shift, We all knew She wouldn't tell you so it was for her own good." Matt replied looking back at the firefighters around the squad table. "She on her way out?" "Yeah i passed her packing her stuff in the locker room, have a good night." He said as he headed towards his truck. Antonio waved. He waited outside the firehouse garage. In the dim light he saw his sister walk towards the road. He walked a little behind her. " so when were you going to tell me?" He asked. She was not completely surprised knowing that Casey probably called him. " Tonio i'm ok..." "I don't care what you say... But you will come with me over to Molly's..." " I wont fight you on that one..." Gabby chuckled. Antonio put his arm around his sister as they got in his truck a headed to Molly's.
"That was really idiotic what you did Gabs..." Antonio noted. " Saving a man's life is Idiotic?" Gabby asked. "No, seriously risking your life to save his life was idiotic... You could have died!" He replied increasing his tone. " Antonio, risking my life is a small price to pay for another life..." " If you had died it would not have been worth it." Gabby grabbed Antonio's hand which were slightly shaking. "Antonio i chose to be a firefighter my life is something i choose to risk for this job..." " i know just..." He stopped suddenly when he saw his sister's face wince. He was holding her palms and lower wrist when he saw a abrasion on her wrist. " Gabby?" " from the rope i held him with." She gently laid it on the table. He saw the pain in her face. He lifted it with his left hand supporting it with his right. " You need some sort of bandage for that... It might get infected..." " I know, I'm just... I don't like to look at my own injuries..." Antonio knew this. When Gabby was younger she hated looking at her own scratches and bruises but was comepletly intrigued by injuries that were not her own. He chuckled as he remembered back in 10th grade he had sprained his ankle and she kept poking his ankle examining it, the only way to get her away was to throw pillows at her. "Whats so funny?" She asked. "Nothing.." He replied smiling. He looked back at her hand. "I will help you out with the wrist ok?" She nodded. Antonio was a good person to bandage her wrist. She always knew she was a wimp when it came to pain. Anyone at 51 would have offered but she had always been embarrassed.
Gabby's apartment...
Antonio came to Gabby's house. Gabby got the stuff she knew would help the wound heal. "Gab's its ok to talk to me,you know that right?" Antonio asked. " i'm talking to you now..." " i mean like telling me when something like this happens I'm always here for you.." " i know..." She replied as she sat the stuff down on the table. Gabby shuddered when he lifted her hand. "Gabby, look at me... Yeah thats it... See?" He soothed as he cleaned out the rope burn with the peroxide. Gabby looked straight into her brothers face. His eyes glanced down to look at what he was doing but the sight of him was somewhat calming. "Done." He exclaimed as he held up his hands. He examined the bandage. "Nice work." " I will talk to you tomorrow..." He said as he planted a kiss on her forehead. " Thanks Antonio." " anything for my baby sister." He smiled as he put his leather jacket on and left.
The End
