Everyone knows Anna and Elsa love chocolate and just what day it is! I know that the chocolate hunting wasn't always a feature but hey, their parents knew of what sweet tooths they were and set it up for them every year.
Frankly. I wanna delete this. I wrote it in ten minutes after doing an Easter egg hunt and I regret it but some of you like it, so hey, I'll leave it just for you guys.
"Elsa! Elsa!" The young woman in question sat up and stretched. She blinked blearily and looked out the window to see the sun barely peeked over the horizon. The person stubbornly continued to knock and call for her. She stumbled to the door and swung it open to see Anna with the worst bed-head possible, a grin on her face and wide awake. The older sister ran a hand through her hair, a halfhearted attempt to smooth it.
"Anna? Why are you up? And you're running around the castle in your nightgown?"
"I've got a surprise for you! Look!" Anna held out her gown, it formed a loose pocket in her hands. Elsa looked up at her.
"Is that-?" She reached out and Anna jumped back.
"Ah, ah, ah! You have to find your own!" She pointed the hall at tiny chocolates, lovingly wrapped in colourful papers.
"I thought mama and papa..."
"Elsa, of all people you should believe in magic! Now come on!" Anna grabbed her sister's hand and tugged, it was all Elsa needed to join her. Suddenly she was eight, she didn't have to worry about when the next meeting would be or what kingdom was requesting her for a ball or the daily schedule, she was free to be with her little sister.
The pair giggled as they hopped down the hall, bouncing from one chocolate to the next and stuffing them in hastily made pockets. The trail led through the kitchen, thankfully there were two baskets placed on the counter with bright red bows. They laughed in delight at the care that had been placed in the adventure and loaded the baskets with the treats they had found. Elsa brushed away the idea of manners and dragged a chair to the cupboards and stood on it to collect the sweets out of their reach. She could imagine her father's horrified face clearly, shouting for her to get down or she'd fall.
"Over here!" Anna called. Elsa followed after her as she ran out to the garden. The coloured paper stood out from under bushes and in trees. Elsa giggled, her hand covering her mouth, as Anna climbed up to a low branch and tossed eggs down to her.
"Look!" Elsa pointed to the pond and jumped down. Anna frowned as she saw reds and yellows on the small island, still hanging from the branches.
"I'm not swimming out to get them!"
"No need," Elsa answered as she started to walk. Disks of ice froze and melted as she walked to the isle and returned with the chocolates.
It took a few hours but they were sure they had found them all. The sun was up in the sky and they hid in the shade of a large oak. There was dirt on their feet and the hems of their gowns, chocolate was on Anna's hands and face. How embarrassed their parents would have been at their royal daughters in such a state. They looked at each other and laughed. Elsa resolved to give the servants a day off and a bonus, if indeed it had been them.
"Happy Easter, Elsa!"
"Happy Easter, Anna."
Now, bit of backstory for those who enjoy it! Elsa hasn't done this since she was eight and well, power incontinence left her in her room. Soooo Anna decided to set it up for her, she asked the servants to set it up so she doesn't know where the eggs are all hidden, she isn't a cheater!
