Prompt: #20 Colorless (FF100)
A/N: I forbade myself from publishing my little ficlets until I finished The Mouse. Here finally, with a heavy heart, I've published them.
Everything in River's life had been colorful. Her ge ge was white, clean, perfect. Her mother was red. Regal Regan Tam. Her father was grey. Serious. Play at play time, work the rest. Her world had been a technicolor rainbow. She had been a technicolor rainbow. And she had reveled in it.
But she went away. She saw hues of blue, metallic silver, sterile white. They melded together, became colorless. Three years without color. Her rainbow bled away. Clear and cloudy. Sans pigment. Day after day without any color.
It was different, now. Each day her eyes opened. The colors flooded into her. She was duller, but once again a rainbow. . The colorlessness had been replaced. Brown like coats, silver like guns. Red like berries, gold like jewelry. White like God, black like sin. Green like dinos, yellow like stars.
The doors opened. Their faces were shocked. Bodies spurted blood. She held a weapon in each hand. She was crazy and she knew it. But, she was safe. Her family was safe. They were okay. The secret was out. She mercilessly took out the monsters. Murder.
But no one would make her colorless again.
