Well this is my first fic that I have ever posted. I hope that you all will enjoy.
A Happy Ending
I have known love, and love has known me, but it was not meant to last forever. As I look back, I realized how naive I really was. To think that he would stay was a crime within itself. I had hope all those years that maybe it was I who he longed for, but as he was dragged down into the fiery pits of hell without protest, I knew that I could never love again.
Kagome leaned back in her chair as she read over what she had just written. She was brought out of her thoughts as a cup of coffee was placed in front of her. Holding that cup was a strong masculine hand.
"Starting another one?" The familiar masculine voice said.
"Yep, I have a five-book contract. This being the last."
Kagome than rose from her chair, and stared at the man who she had loved so easily. To think that he had given up is world for her, made her heart swell every time she looked at him.
"A happy ending this time?" he asked as he pulled her into his arms.
Kagome leaned into his touch, feeling the warmth that he emitted. She took a nice whiff of his unique scent.
'Mm . . . sandal wood and the rugged outdoors,' she thought.
She than lifted her head to look into his lavender pools, they were no longer the amber orbs that she had grown accustomed too, but they were no less as beautiful. His hair had turned black as well, midnight black to be more specific, but no matter what he looked like, to her, he was just as handsome. Although she will admit that those doggy ears will forever be missed.
Kagome stood up on her tiptoes and placed a gentle kiss on her husband's lips, and ever so softly whispered, "A definite happy ending."
