Rin breathed in the country air. It wasn't very often that she got to stop and really look at the view as she walked. It seemed as though her Lord was becoming more obsessed with Naraku. Rin knew better than to question her him so she simply went along with his movements.

Maybe it was his need to be the most powerful or his need to out do Inuyasha, but for whatever reason Lord Sesshomaru was determined to kill Naraku. He was the first one to show her friendship when he saved her from a life of loneliness. Sometimes she wished for a mother and a father, a permanent place to call home and playmates.

All those thoughts were dashed away when she looked at Lord Sesshomaru and master Jaken. There was a large warmth in her heart that only family could bring when she followed the them

One thing Rin enjoyed about the countryside were the simple country people. They were always kind to her despite how much they feared Lord Sesshomaru. It was vastly different from the city that was populated with politicians and Geisha. "Lets move master Jaken, Lord Sesshomaru is way ahead of us."

Her voice was still soft and sweet despite the rough life she had lived. There was still that innocent aspect of her that had yet to go away.

"You silly child! Do you honestly believe that I'm going anywhere with you? I will follow only Lord Sesshomru's orders! Not yours " Rin couldn't help but laugh at Master Jaken's words. Even though the toad demon was mean at times, she knew that he would do nothing to harm her because deep down she liked to believe he liked her too.

Sesshomaru walked ahead of the small band of travelers. His white hair was loose as always and his posture straight. The white cloth covered his fit, war-hardened body leaving him with a look of refined danger.

The sun was high now, at its' peak during the day. Walking during the day in this type of weather was no good for Rin's small body and this Lord Sesshomaru knew in a matter of minutes she would beg for rest.

Unlike the demons she traveled with, Rin needed food often to survive and unfortunately for her, they sometimes forgot that. Sesshomaru's keen ears picked up the unmistaken sound of her rumbling tummy. "Jaken, follow Rin to the nearest village for food. Try and be back before night fall."

His deep monotone voice carried a low but strong sense of authority. Despite Jaken's annoyance, he knew that carrying Rin to the village was the only thing he could do to avoid a stone to the head.

"Will you not accompany us Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin looked up at her Lord with hopefulness. He turned his head a bit to the side before giving her a response.

"I will stay here and rest. You require food more than I, which is why you must go" He said.

"Then I will stay too my Lord." There was a slight look of determination on her face that was not missed my Sesshomaru.

With someone else, his sword would have already pierced their heart. Blood would have been gushing around him like rain but , this was Rin. Despite her human tendencies, he could not treat her as roughly as Jaken. After all these years, she was more his now than before. "Very well, you can stay. Jaken you go."
