1Danny/Lauren: what if Lauren called Danny and not Claudine?
"I need your help. I'm at the hospital."
Those were the last words he ever wanted to hear out of her lips. Terrified, he ran through the hospital hallways, ignoring the glares and shouts of disapproval from the nursing staff.
"Lauren!" He gasped as he reached the waiting room. As soon as she saw him she jumped out of her seat and into his waiting arms.
He buried his head in her shoulder waiting for her to stop shaking. She didn't but she did pull away.
Terribly worried he asked, "Lauren what's wrong? Why are you here?"
The pair sat down in the uncomfortable plastic chairs as she faced him, fear in her eyes. He squeezed her hands for reassurance but as if just realizing where her hands were, Lauren pulled out of his grasp.
"I shouldn't have called you," She whispered. "What was I thinking?" She pulled her legs against her chest and held them close. All the feelings she spent weeks bottling up seemed to be crashing down all around her.
"Lauren? Tell me what's the matter." His voice was soft and worried. He shouldn't be worried. He shouldn't care. Those feelings were reserved for Claudine now, he made his choice.
"Look Danny, I'm sorry that I made you run down here but – " She took a deep breath and whispered, "I think you better go."
Confused, Danny shook his head. "I'm not leaving you here. Now tell me what is wrong?" He lifted her head up by her chin and searched her eyes for the answer.
He got none. She didn't say a word and turned her head away. He got on his knees in front of her and grabbed hold of her hands again.
"Why are you pushing me away?"
Trying to pry her hands away again, Lauren let out a dry sob. Her tears swept down her face in a hurry and Danny swiftly gathered her in his arms and held her close as she cried.
It took a while for Lauren to stop but she did and with a slight hiccup she said, "I've been getting these pain in my legs lately. I thought that it was just from the dance routines but – it kept happening."
She looked up into his eyes and another tear rolled down her cheek. "Danny I'm scared. My family has a history of MS, what if I have it? I'll never be able to dance again –!"
Danny tried to calm her down by telling her it was going to be okay even though he wasn't so sure.
