Maven Black-Briar's P.O.V.
I stood on my balcony. Below me I could see Maul making his rounds. I grin wryly. He had been quite the lover yesterday night but I was growing bored and as a result my mind turned to a thief but not just any thief. The thief in mind was Mercer Frey. I had encountered him many times before but he never even looked my way. I couldn't really blame him either. I sigh.
"Mother, what was that sigh for?" My daughter –Ingun- asked from the doorway to my bedroom. She was hesitant to enter. I shook my head. I was not about to explain my emotions to my daughter.
"No reason, Ingun." I said before walking past my alchemy-inclined daughter. I descended the stairs and briefly considered looking over the ledgers. I shook my head. Not tonight. I can't focus so I'd mess up. I can't have that. I thought wryly. I head to the stables. Maul helped me into the saddle. I rode out of Riften and urged my horse –Frost- into a gallop. I stopped by the edge of the lake. As Frost drank from the lake after I dismounted I looked at my reflection. I heard something and started to turn when a hand clamped over my mouth.
"Hush, Maven," A voice –the voice I'd longed to hear say my name- whispered in my ear. "There's a group of vampires. Be still." A shadow fell over me.
"Damn it! I thought I saw a mortal here." One of the vampires –a woman- said. The vampires left. I was released and the shadow lifted. Mercer moved to stand before me.
"Hello, Maven," he said. "Were you looking for me by any chance?" Before I could answer he tilted my face up to his with a gentle hand and kissed me. I let my hands rest on his chest as he kept one hand under my chin and the other on my waist. Please, Mara, please don't ever let this moment end. I prayed silently to the goddess of love. Mercer lifted his head. A faint blush stained my cheeks as I looked into his eyes.
Mercer Frey's P.O.V.
I gaze down at the woman I held in my arms. Even in the evening light I could see the blush of her cheeks. For a moment I wondered what would happen if I laid her down on the sand and made love to her. Maven's eyes lowered slightly.
"Maven, I-I…" I stopped as she pressed one elegant finger to my lips. She smiled at me. She spoke words I never expected to hear.
"Love me, Mercer. Make my body sing in ecstasy as only you will be able to." She said. I kiss her again more passionately than before. In a matter of moments she was writhing beneath me begging me to take her…which I did. Her cry of pleasure and passion echoed mine. I lay beside her on the sand.
"Maven, are you alright?" I ask concerned. She smiled at me. I smile back. She spoke again her voice a melody I'd longed to hear.
"Mercer, come to my home tomorrow night. I have a business arrangement for you," She said with a smile. "One we'll both enjoy." I laugh and agree. We parted ways.
