Ink Quill

Ink Quill is an earth pony who didn't talk much. He seemed to keep to himself most of the time, due to the fact that he can't seem to hold a conversation without making it awkward. As he grew, he had dealt with many bullies and pushed himself away from most chances from making friends.

He sat in the back of the class with plenty of paper, ink, and quills, but no pony cared enough to find out what he was doing with all of that. What they didn't know is that he was creating works of litterateur that would cause some pony else to have a loving hope for him.

One day while he was throwing letters onto the page, a white pony with magenta eyes came over to his desk. "Hey Ink Quill. I'm sorry if I'm interrupting something, but I have just been wondering what you are doing with all those things". Ink Quill knew this pony. It was the one he had a small crush on. This pony was Vinyl Scratch. He looked at her at a loss for words. He didn't want to say anything in fear of messing up his one chance to make a good impression on Vinyl.

He sat there very quietly, not knowing what to do, he looked at the paper and showed it to Vinyl. She read the page as Ink Quill has a worried look on his face. Vinyl read the words out load, but very quietly as if to help herself understand it better. No one besides those two heard the words. The page said,

"I sit here waiting to know who you are.

Out of fear of messing up, I stay at a far.

Trying to find the words to say, I feel that I must stay at bay.

I feel as if we are made to match.

I wish to know you more Vinyl Scratch."

As Vinyl read the last few words, she looked at Ink Quill and blushed. He continued to stay quiet and a smile grew on his face. She hugged him as she told him how sweet that was. As Vinyl released from the hug a sparkling glow came from Ink Quill's flank and his cutie mark appeared. He was speechless and Vinyl had never seen a pony get their cutie mark before.

After they fully realized what had happened, Vinyl quickly congratulated him. Ink Quill cut her off with the first words she had heard him speak. "No Vinyl, its not me you should congratulate because you are the one who inspired me to write. You are the muse to the words I write. You are my poetry."

Vinyl was speechless and unknowing of what to say. Ink Quill spoke again with a quiver in his voice. "I'm sorry for that, I don't know what came over me. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings by cutting you off." Vinyl just looked at him and smiled. She stated "You don't need to apologize Quill. Your writing is really good and flattering if you don't mind me saying. You have a lot of potential and don't waste it apologizing for telling some pony how you feel, use that to help your writings and poems flourish."

They looked at each other eye to eye and Vinyl gave Quill a small kiss on the lips and said "I will be looking forward to your next poem." and walked off. As she walked off, Ink Quill thought about what she said and quickly started on his next poem.
