I rise up into the unknown world I am about to face. Once my eyes adjust to the bright light, I begin to take in my surroundings. I'm the smallest tribute here. I don't know how I will survive. Everyone is bigger than me. They are all better with weapons than I am. I am going to be an easy kill. My feeble knees begin to buckle, my body tenses, I close my eyes, and take a deep breath as the countdown begins. I feel the wind slide around my body gracefully as the countdown reaches the 10 second mark. As the clock approaches 7 I begin to feel the adrenaline flow throw my veins. When the clock reaches 5, I open my eyes, and lock onto my target. I'm diving right into the cornucopia. If I die, I want it to be done as quickly as possible. I am no longer afraid to die. If there is a chance I may live, I'm going to find as many knives as possible. Knives are the only weapons I can handle, as the rest are too big for me. The clock reaches 3 and I take in one final breath, hoping its not my last. Then, I hear the siren, and I run. I run straight into the mouth of the cornucopia. My heart is racing. I'm already sweating. Thank goodness I'm the first one there. I see a vest full of knives. I slip it over my head. It is a little big, but it will have to do. I also grab a backpack, hoping whatever is in it, will be enough to survive on. As I turn around I find myself looking up into the eyes of my deadliest opponent, the boy from District 2, Cato. He already is covered in blood. He looks extremely angry. His eyes are filled red with rage. He is going to kill me, but I won't let him. As he raises his sword, I grab a knife, stand up on my tiptoes, and jam it right into his chest. His blood begins to spill all over me. I must have gotten him in the heart. He collapses instantly. Behind him I observe the bloodbath unfold. I see Peeta fighting with another tribute over a pack of food. I decide to go help him, but as I step out of the cornucopia, a knife whizzes past me, slicing my forehead. Another flies by, grazing my arm. It is Clove, the girl from District 2. She throws another, but I dodge it. I then throw my own and, out of shear luck, it sticks right into her neck. She drops like a rag doll. I then try to run toward Peeta, but I trip. When I roll over, the boy from District 1, Marvel, is standing over me, with the tip of a spear pointing right at me. There is no way out of this one. I know now that I am going to die. At least I took out the two deadliest opponents myself. Who would of thought I could do that? However, it will never matter. I am going to die. I brace myself. I take in my final breath as I watch the spear come down to me. However, before it gets to me, Marvel is tackled by Peeta. "Run, Prim, Run! Get out of here Prim!", Peeta screams as he battles with Marvel. I don't hesitate to follow his instructions. I run like the wind. After several hours, and as the light begins to fade, I finally stop. I don't know where I am, nor do I care. I climb up a tree and perch up there for the night. The faces of the fallen appear in the sky. Cato and Clove are up there, so I know I took them out. After all of the faces flash by, I realize there are only six tributes left. It is me, Peeta, and both tributes from Districts 1 and 11. That means Marvel is still alive. Great. Well, at least the careers wiped out as many as they did. I decide to sleep here for now. I hear one male and one female scream pierce the air at some point in the night. Then I barely see, through my sleepy eyes, the faces of the male from 11 and the female from 1 appear in the sky. They must have been the screams I heard. Again, less people I have to worry about. When I wake up, I decide to try to keep moving. After about an hour or so of walking I hear movement. I whip around to see Marvel running towards me again. I take off, hoping he will tire out before I do, but once again, I trip. He dives at me, but I roll away. He then tries to lunge at me again. This time, he pins me. He pulls a knife out of his jacket and is about to stab me when Peeta pushes him off of me. Marvel then pins him, and stabs him in the heart. Peeta's cannon goes off instantly. Then I see Rue, the female from 11, charge towards us. She is almost my size, but I'm still smaller. I don't know what makes her think she can fight Marvel. She does have a knife in her hand, but that won't do her any good. She lunges at Marvel, but he just puts one hand out, and pushes her down. He then hovers right over her. Right before he pushes the knife into her body, I stab him in the back. He screams, and swipes an arm behind him, knocking me down. He then pins me one more time, and this time, the knife goes through me. My life begins to bleed out of me. With what little life I have left, I see Rue come from behind him, and slit his throat. I hear his cannon immediately. "Thank you", she mouthes. She has won. She will go home. I may be dying, but I have not sacrificed my life in vein. The odds weren't in my favor, but that's ok. The odds were in Rue's favor. I take my very last breath, knowing my sacrifice is only the beginning.
