Life Is Good

Though my hair is snow

I still can see the red

Though my body's weary

I shan't yet lay down my head.

Life is good and hopeful

Even now, so old as I

My spirit dances with youth

I hear the faeries cry.

Anne-girl I once was

Trouble in little girl form

But always good intentions

I've weathered through my storms.

Walking down through the orchards

My home-lights in the distance

Always thinking of the time

When my thoughts were still clean and mistless.

Without the death and shadows

Holding my hands through the pain

Never yet seeing a joyous rain

Of blessings left in place of the lost ones' names.

Now that I am so weary

Those blessings come to mind

Though I can no longer run

I'm not anymore so far behind.

Life is good for awhile

Every piece of heaven borrowed or lent out

But I know I shall ascend across the bar and under the Sun

My love will hold life's lantern

Lit patiently waiting on my return, bright and stout.
