Greece's birthday

It was a cool February day in Greece's home. He was a little boy and very excited, because today his mother had gotten him a present. He had ran home and into the kitchen where he found his mother. She smiled down at him and picked up from the counter a small kitten that was pure white with beautiful blue eyes.

"For you, happy birthday," the woman said softly. To this Greece reached up full of delight. Just as his little fingers brushed the kitten's soft coat, his mother let out a loud scream, causing Greece to step back frightened and the kitten to jump out of the open window.

Greece awoke from the dream with a start. He slowly got up and looked at his clock only to find out that he had slept through his alarm. This did not bother him however and simply got dressed as slowly as usual. He then began his walk to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, he found Japan working away on breakfast. Deciding to try and sneak up on Japan, he softly walked into the kitchen. It was not until he was almost to Japan that the Asian nation turned around and said, "Good morning Greece-san, happy birthday."

"Ya…so why are you here Japan?" Greece asked nonchalantly.

"As I said, it is your birthday. I thought that we could spend it together unless you had other plans."

"No, I didn't have any plans," Greece said while sitting down at the table. The two of them sat in silence and ate.

After breakfast, the two of them decided to go for a walk around the city. However, something seemed to be off with Greece. Japan was use to Greece being more in thought than talking on their walks, but today he seemed to be more out of it than usual.

He was about to ask Greece if something was wrong when Turkey walked by. Like usual, Turkey said hello to them and began to pester Greece. To this, Japan pulled Turkey aside and asked him to be nice to Greece today due to his unusual attitude. While this was going on however, Greece became preoccupied and walked off leaving them.

The thing that preoccupied him was a young cat. A white cat with blue eyes in fact, and Greece became evident on catching this cat. He quickly followed the cat from street to street until he was far away from the others.

By the time Japan and Turkey found him, it was already late in the afternoon and Japan was not in a very good mood. They found Greece still stalking the white cat, and Japan's voice had just scared the cat away.

"Greece-san, what are you doing? We have been looking everywhere for you?" Japan asked with a very little hint of anger in his words. To this, Greece simply looked at him and said, "Oh, Japan, you scared the cat away."

At this Turkey began to laugh loudly, causing Greece to look at him angrily. Upon seeing Japan's confused face Turkey explained, "Ya see Japan, ever since Greece was a little kid, every year for his birthday he'll look for a white cat with blue eyes."

"But why so specific?" Japan asked still confused.

Turkey then leaned closer to Japan so that Greece would not overhear them and said, "Because the last present his mommy gave him was a white cat with blue eye that ran off shortly after he got it. So, every year around this time he tries to find a cat that looks like that one," after saying all this he moved slightly away from Japan and said loud enough for Greece to hear, "I guess when you get right down to it Greece is still a momma's boy!"

Upon hearing this, Greece began to blush slightly and turned his attention to Turkey. The two of them then began to fight as if everything was back to normal.
