Lamps

It was no secret that Hotaru collected lamps. You would have to be blind not to realize that as you walked into her room. Lamps were everywhere. On her dressers. On her desk. On the shelves running along her wall. Hotaru loved lamps. She loved the ones her friends gave her.

Usagi gave her a lamp that looked like a cat. It was a light gray kitten with darker gray stripes. It had a pink nose and blue eyes. A green ball was placed between its front paws. Its tail curved around the post for the light bulb.

Rei gave her a lamp that looked like a miko. The woman was tall and thin. She had pale white skin. Her hair and eyes were a dark blue color. She was dressed in the traditional clothing of a miko.

Ami gave her a lamp that looked like a stack of books. There were six books all stacked on top of each other. The first book was green and the title was Little Women. The second book was red with the title The Secret of the Old Clock. The third book was purple and the title read Of Mice and Men. The forth book was blue with the title The Scarlet Letter. The fifth book was yellow with the title Animal Farm. The last book was orange and the title read Huckleberry Finn.

Makoto gave her a lamp in the shape of a cake. The lamp was a three-layered tiered chocolate cake. It had pink frosting surrounding the edges.

And Minako gave her a lava lamp.

But the lamp she loved the most was the lamp she got from her Setsuna-mama, Haruka-papa, and Michiru-mama. That lamp was in the shape of a firefly.

Yes, Hotaru loved lamps.
